Adolescence Education Programme

Nerul, Aug 12, 2015 : On the occasion of International Youth Day, on 12th August 2015, the students of Class IX organised a special assembly. They apprised the students about the importance of participation of youth in civic, political, and public life so that young people can be empowered and bring a full contribution to society, development, and peace.

Students made a special badge for the students of Class IX which they wore during the day. They sang a motivational song ‘Climb’ in the assembly which enthralled all the students. A poster-making competition on the topic “Youth in civic, politics, and public life’ was held.

Nerul, July 17, 2015 : An Inter-Class Competition was held for Class IX on the topic of ‘Substance Abuse and Peer Pressure’, on 17th July 2015. On this day, students of classes IX presented their views on substance abuse in the form of plays, songs, and PowerPoint presentations. Their performances were judged by a panel of judges and the chief guest of the day, Dr Shefali Mehra, a dietician, and nutritionist. She conducted an interactive session with the students on a teen diet.

Nerul, Apr 27, 2015 : The AEP program for the session 2015-16 began with a workshop on ‘Life Skills’ for the students of Class IX. It was conducted by Dr (Mrs) M.R.Shipley, Associate Principal, along with the nodal teachers, Ms Samita Vij and Ms Ritu Kapur on 27th April 2015.

The students were taught about the applications of life skills such as thinking, social and negotiation skills in ones’ daily life. They were taught how to make wise decisions in tough conditions and to manage themselves creatively. This program made them comprehend that this is the time to take a step for themselves and say NO to peer pressure.
