‘Adventure Camp’ at Apeejay School, Saket

New Delhi, 22nd Nov, 2012: With the aim to provide the school children a holistic out-of-home and out-of-classroom education, Apeejay School, Saket organised a two-day ‘adventure camp’ in its campus recently.

The overnight adventure camp attended by students of Class VI to Class X consisted of the activities like introduction of adventure equipment, rappelling, river crossing techniques, knot tying exercises, confidence building exercises and crossing the Burma Bridge, among other activities. There were also recreational activities like bon fire, dance, and magic show for the students.

According to the principal of the school, Mrs. Anita Paul, the camp was specially designed for the students to bring into them a sense of responsibility, adventure, togetherness and independence. The students also got an idea on various survival techniques during calamities and disasters. She also stated that the safety of the students had been taken into account and they were supervised by the experts.

Manav Singh, a student from Class VI said, “Life at this campus is not only filled with fun, but also filled with so many learnings, which can be used in day-to-day life. Overall this camp has given a chance for having a very good mental as well as physical exercise.”

Notably, the School is celebrating its Silver Jubilee this year and has in store many innovative programmes and functions for the students. The whole school was lit up to enhance the festive mood; the enthusiasm of the students was noteworthy.
