New Delhi, September 5, 2013: Mrs. S. Samra, Principal, Apeejay School, Faridabad has been bestowed with the 'National Teachers Award 2012' at the ‘National Awards to Teachers-2012’, an event organised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. This is the highest reward conferred by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The award recognises her exemplary contributions in the field of education and society encompassing academic efficiency, desire for improvement in education, general interest in the love for children, involvement in social life and reputation enjoyed in the local community.
Mrs. Samra was also honoured with the ‘CBSE Best Teacher Award’ in 2010. She has participated in a number of national and international workshops, conferences and also acted as a resource person in many regular guidance programmes. She has received national & international letters of appreciation and recommendation for her services in the field of education. Being a reflective practitioner, she is presently involved in ‘Design Think’ which is in collaboration with the Willem De Kooning Academy, Art School of Rotterdam, Netherlands.
She has been a mentor for the students of Apeejay School, Faridabad, helping them in creating new benchmarks in scholastic and co-scholastic activities, both at the national and international level. She has also effectively contributed towards articulating the ethos of Apeejay Education Society where academic excellence goes parallel with human excellence.
