Kharghar, August 15, 2020: Independence Day was celebrated with the teachers’ and students’ speeches on how our Covid warriors are fighting to free the country from the ongoing pandemic. Students were explained their duties towards the country. They presented patriotic songs along with dances. It was a power-packed performance by all the children.

Kharghar, January 2020: The 71st Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at Apeejay School, Kharghar. School Principal, Mrs Tejaswini Katdare, unfurled the National Flag which was followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.

The contingents of the four houses of the School marched past to the beats of the School band as the Principal took the salute. This was followed by heart-touching patriotic songs sung by the School choir. Students presented an enthralling dance, offering tribute and honour to the heroes who bought us this freedom. Speeches were delivered in English, Hindi and Marathi.

Mrs Tejaswini Katdare addressed the gathering and reminded students of their duties towards the nation. She stressed on the fact that small steps lead to great success.

The programme concluded with the rendition of the National Song, Vande Mataram. Sweets were distributed to all.

Kharghar, November 10, 2019: A grand Carnival titled ‘EXUBERANCE–2019’ was organised in the School grounds on 10th November. It was an outstanding success with parents, students and other residents of Kharghar who visited and enjoyed the carnival thoroughly.

The day began with the lighting of the lamp and welcome address by the School Principal, Mrs Tejaswini Katdare. The Carnival was declared open & balloons were released and students of the School performed a welcome dance.

Throughout the day, there were non-stop stage shows, encouraging students, parents and visitors to exhibit their talents, a whole lot of fun rides like merry go round, giant wheel, roller coaster rides, and a variety of entertaining games and tele games for parents and children. There were a number of stalls selling various food items too.

Students and parents thronged the various stalls where mouth-watering snacks and fun-filled games had been organised. There were rides like the Giant Wheel, My Fair Lady and Roller Coaster. Students participated in impromptu performances and won prizes. The Chief Guest of the Carnival was none other than Ms Simran Malhotra, winner of the Miss Navi Mumbai 2017 title. She also won the title of ‘Face of the Year 2017’ and was the Runner-Up of ‘Miss Mumbai 2017’. She bagged the title for Miss Queen of India, 2018 and represented India at Miss Asia 2018 and qualified as the top 10.

The Guest of Honour, Mrs Seema Verma, Chartered President of Inner Wheel Club of Navi Mumbai Bayside, also graced the occasion. She is the current President of the Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai, Bayside.

The senior students took part in a Fashion Show and showcased their confidence & style. Group dance competitions were held and prizes were given to the winners. The first prize was bagged by the students of Apeejay School, Kharghar, who presented a beautifully choreographed patriotic song. The highlight of the evening was the performance by ‘Prateek and group’ who were finalists of India’s Got Talent, Season 6 and mega finalists in Dance Plus, Season 1. They were also Winners of Ugram Ujwalam, a Kerala Dance reality show and Daman dance festival.

There was also a lucky draw Raffle where four prizes – Alexa Echo Dot, Samsung Microwave, Forbes Vacuum Cleaner and Philips Food Processor – were given to the winners.

The School Principal extended her appreciation & thanks to the parents, students and teachers for making the event a grand success. The Carnival concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
