Tech Fest 2020
The students of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, once again showcased their creative might and multiple talents at 'Tech Fest 2020' organised by Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar.
The School team won the 'Overall Winner' Trophy. The budding stars participated in a blend of 12 technical, cultural, and creative events.
School Principal, Mr Girish Kumar, congratulated the winners and their teachers. The event-wise results were as follows:

The ‘Drive-through’ Lohri Celebrations
Jalandhar, Jan 9, 2021: To reinforce their connection with the students who have been missing their physical school for the last ten months during the COVID-19 pandemic, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar invited the students of the Pre-Primary and Primary Wings to partake in a ‘Drive-Through’ Lohri celebrations. Hundreds of parents and children drove in from one gate and drove out through the other while all teachers attired in the traditional Punjabi dresses stood in the flanks waving at the children amidst the beats of dhol. The whole driveway was decked up in Lohri ambiance and enchanted all passers-by.
Festival of Christmas
Jalandhar, Dec 19, 2020: Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar celebrated the festival of Christmas on the virtual platform of Zoom. The students of Primary classes recited various poems on Christmas, melodious carols, presented wonderful dance performances, and also baked yummy cakes. The Apeejay stars also explained the significance of the Christmas festival through the Christmas story. Cake cutting was done at the end of the event. The children enjoyed the celebration.
Investiture Ceremony (2020-21)
Jalandhar, December 12, 2020: The Investiture Ceremony of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar for the academic session 2020-2021 was solemnised through virtual media. Mr Rahul Chaba, PCS ADC (General) Kapurthala was the Chief Guest for the occasion. A solemn ceremony that commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp was followed by ‘Ganesh Vandana’, a dance performance invoking the blessings of the Almighty. The Chief Guest and the School Principal, Mr Girish Kumar, administered the oath to the newly elected members of the Prefectorial Board & the Student Academic Council and exhorted the appointees to perform their duties with zeal and dedication. The Head Boy and The Head Girl for the session 2020-21 are Harsahib Singh and Aliah Janeja respectively. The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Principal.
Story Narration Activity
Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar conducted a Hindi and English Story Narration activity on Zoom to develop the stronger skills of imagination, expression, and oration among children. The students of Primary classes confidently and zealously narrated their stories. Some story-tellers armed with props also came forth with wonderful tales. The activity helped the students to inculcate moral values, enhance their vocabulary and speaking skills.
Hindi Hasya Kavita Pratiyogita
Jalandhar, Oct 31, 2020: Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar organised an IH Hindi Hasya Kavita Pratiyogita (Senior and Middle). The budding poets of the School tickled the audiences with the humorous renditions and enlivened the atmosphere. The poetry dealt with politics, family, environment, etc. The judges were all fascinated with the multifarious talents of our students.
Hindi Poem Recitation
Jalandhar, Oct 21, 2020: Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar conducted a Hindi Poem Recitation activity on the virtual platform of Zoom. The students of classes I and II recited various poems on the theme 'Festivals'. This activity was organised to further enhance the speaking skills of participants and boost their confidence in oration. Parents also joined in this engrossing activity.
English Debate Competition
Jalandhar, Oct 24, 2020: Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar organised an IH English Debate Competition (Senior and Middle). The young debaters of the School argued their cases with utmost conviction. The vigorous rebuttal highlighted their spontaneous thinking. The topic for the Middle category was ‘Women Empowerment is a Myth in India’ whereas the topic for the Senior category was ‘We are a Pseudo-Secular Nation’. The judge for the debates was Ms Aishwarya Sawarna, Director, Global Beauty Secrets, Mumbai, and Former Producer, CNBC-TV18. She was all praises for the quality of debating at Apeejay School and sponsored gift vouchers for the winners and participants.
Science Model-Making Competition
Jalandhar, Oct 10, 2020: Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar organised an Inter-House Science Model Making Competition (Senior and Middle). The budding scientists of Apeejay displayed their imagination, creativity, and concern for society through their models which augured well for the society.
101st Birth Anniversary of Dr Stya Paul ji
Jalandhar, Oct 5, 2020: 'Soaring High is My Nature' - Keeping the School motto in mind, the students, alumni, parents, and faculty of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Model Town, and Tanda Road celebrated the 101st Birth Anniversary of the Founder Chairman, Dr Stya Paul ji (Distinguished Industrialist, Educationist, Freedom Fighter and Philanthropist) on the virtual platform. The grand virtual celebration was no less than the real one in terms of students’ participation. Their zest for the day was evident in their active involvement despite their ongoing assessments. Bhajan recital, Short Skit, speeches, and dance presentations by the students added charm to the celebration. Principal, Ms Sinia Sajith (Model Town Branch) enlightened the viewers with the inspirational journey of Dr Stya Paul. Principal, Mr Girish Kumar (Mahavir Marg Branch) read out the message sent by Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education, and announced the much-awaited Dr Stya Paul Awards for Human Values in various categories.
Teacher’s Day Celebration
Jalandhar, Sep 5, 2020: The Students’ Council at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg celebrated Teacher’s Day virtually on Zoom. The students expressed their emotions with soulful songs, dances, and theatrical performances. They also played some games involving teachers to further add vibrancy to the celebration.
74th Independence Day Celebration
Celebrating the bravery and honouring the sacrifice of our martyrs, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar celebrated the 74th Independence Day with such a great patriotic zeal and gusto that even the virtuality of the online celebrations didn’t seem to dampen the spirit of the participants and the spectators. The whole school was divided into groups and the celebrations were carried on simultaneously in all these groups. Children, through an array of dramatic and musical performances, sensitised everyone about the true essence of patriotism and eulogised the greatness of their motherland. School Principal, Mr Girish Kumar, in his address paid tribute to the great souls who had sacrificed their lives for this freedom and also appreciated the frontline warriors who have been risking their lives for their fellow citizens during this period of crisis. He also sensitised the students to be responsible and disciplined to sustain this hard-earned freedom. The program concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
Krishna Janamashtami Celebration
Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, celebrated Shri Krishna Janamashtami on the online platform of Zoom. The students of primary classes played the roles of Shri Krishna, Goddess Radha ji, and gopikas. They won the hearts of spectators by dressing in divine attires and enacting their respective roles perfectly. The event comprised various activities like dance, singing, poem recitation, mono acting, role play, etc. The celebration brought devotion, creativity, enjoyment, and fun all together on one platform. The event concluded with the message of the School Principal, Mr Girish Kumar.
Open Mic Evening
Jalandhar, June 26, 2020: Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg saw an overwhelming participation of students in the Open Mic Evening. There were dances, songs, poetry recitation, performances on musical instruments, and many more performances which were thoroughly enjoyed by participants and audiences. The special guest was Mr Dilip Arora who enthralled the audience with his amazing voice and Bollywood numbers.
International Day for Yoga
Jalandhar, June 21, 2020: Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, observed International Day for Yoga wherein Swami Niranjan Dev from Rishikesh conducted simple Yoga asanas for the teachers and parents who had attended the session on Zoom. He also emphasised the importance of doing Yoga daily.
10th Death Anniversary of Dr Stya Paul ji
Jalandhar, June 7, 2020: Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, paid homage to the great visionary and philanthropist - Dr Stya Paul ji, Founder Chairman, on his 10th death anniversary - in a prayer meeting conducted on Zoom. School Principal, in his speech, highlighted some incidents from the life of Dr Stya Paul ji and the messages given by those incidents for all humans. He further added that the true tribute to this great visionary can only be given by moving in the direction shown by him and making efforts to achieve his ideals.
The Prayer Meeting was attended by all staff members.
Bhajan Sandhya – Ek Shaam Prabhu Ke Naam
Jalandhar, June 5, 2020: In the series of ‘Raabta - Let the Relations Flow’, Apeejay School organised a Bhajan Sandhya – ‘Ek Shaam Prabhu Ke Naam’ . The famous duo Shri Ashok Sharma and Shri Kumar Ashu Sharma mesmerised the audiences with their soulful rendition of Shri Krishna bhajans. The program organised on the Zoom platform was attended by the grandparents of our kindergarten.
Inter-House PowerPoint Presentation Competition (Seniors)
Jalandhar, May 30, 2020: Apeejay School organised an inter-house PowerPoint presentation competition (seniors) on the Zoom Platform. The topic of the competition was ‘Two Sides of COVID-19’. Students conducted thorough research and prepared amazing presentations. Judges applauded the efforts and technical know-how of the students.
Tap Your Talent
To engage young children productively, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, organised an intra-class activity ‘Tap Your Talent’ for classes I and II. Students enthusiastically participated with their siblings and parents, and exhibited some graceful dance moves, performed yoga and science experiments, showed their culinary, singing, art & craft, and oratory skills.
Inter-House English Poetry Recitation Competition
Aptly quoted by Robert Frost, “Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.”
Giving words to their innate emotions, the students of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar exhibited their poetical skills through an array of poems in an online Inter-House English Poetry Recitation Competition. The students, through their poems, sensitised the listeners to never lose hope, no matter how crucial and challenging the time seems to be.

‘Carpe Diem’ – Winter Carnival
Jalandhar, Jan 25, 2020: The second edition of ‘Carpe Diem’ – the Winter Carnival – was held at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar.
Session on ‘Art of Living’
A week-long ‘Art of Living’ session was held in the school for the teenagers to help them cope with various problems that surround them. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Vivek Vansal and Ms. Ritu Talwar. Students learnt various techniques to relieve stress and anxiety from their lives. The workshop boosted their confidence, clarity of expression and concentration of mind.
20 NCC Cadets of our school attended the Annual Training Camp organized by 2nd Punjab Battalion at Kapurthala. 18 NCC cadets cleared the ‘A’ certificates. 65 cadets underwent Fire Training and 80 cadets participated in painting competition on the occasion of NCC Day they also collected an Amount of Rs. 10,000/- on the occasion of NCC Flag Day.
THEMATIC MORNING ASSEMBLY
The importance of morning Assembly cannot be undermined. During special morning sessions on important days, birthdays of eminent persons, National day, religious and cultural days or weeks are being observed, talks, parables, dramas debates songs are theme based and relevant to the occasions.
On such occasion distinguished personalities are invited to deliver talks and the duration of such assemblies is nearly an hour. Students belonging to all the four houses and of different age groups/ classes are encouraged to participate.
ADVENTURE CAMPA two day adventure camp was organized to encourage team sprit. Students were given training about tent pitching, mountaineering methods, Rappelling Burma Bridge, River crossing and disaster management techniques.

Mother’s Day Celebration

Jalandhar, August 2019: A festival synonymous with childhood innocence and mischief, Janmashtami was celebrated in Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, with great enthusiasm. The students of Class I, dressed in colourful traditional attires, also presented a mesmerising dance performance.
Independence Day Celebration

Skype Session with Daejeon High School, South Korea (2019)
A group of students from Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, had a chance to exchange and share information as they interacted with the students of Daejeon High School, South Korea via a fun-filled and interactive Skype session.
The students discussed Indian movies, games, seasons, national festivals of India and the similarities between Indian & South Korean cultures. Students also exhibited their talent at playing guitar and dance performances.
Street play titled 'Say No to Drugs' (2019)
Highlighting the menace of drugs in the society, the students of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, presented a street play titled 'Say No to Drugs' at the State Bank of India (main branch), Bus Stand, Jalandhar. The performance was highly applauded by the audience.

Vibrant and enthusiastic dancers displayed their artistic flair in a Solo Dance Competition held at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar.
The vivacious dancers enthralled the audience with their performances in various categories including Contemporary, Fusion, Semi-Classical and Folk Dance.
Homage to Late Mrs Rajeshwari Paul
Jalandhar, May 2019: The Principal and staff members of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, paid homage to Late Mrs Rajeshwari Paul, wife of Founder Chairman of the Apeejay Education Society, Late Dr Stya Paul, on her 7th death anniversary. The special prayer meeting was also attended by the staff members of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, and Apeejay School's Pre-Primary branch. The Heads of the Institutes paid a floral tribute followed by bhajans and a two-minute silence was observed by all the members.
Celebration of Shakespeare Day
Jalandhar, April 2019: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Shakespeare, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, organised a special assembly wherein literary characters from Shakespeare's plays came alive, leaving everyone spellbound with their performances.
Class XI Bid Farewell to Class XII at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar
Jalandhar, Feb 9, 2019: Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, organised a farewell party for Class XII, on February 9, 2019. The party began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp, thus, invoking the blessings of the Almighty. Students relived their childhood memories in their Alma Mater through a PPT that took them down the memory lane. Different titles were awarded to the students like Early Bird Prize, The Most Regular Student, The Most Disciplined Student, The Most Cooperative Student and The Most Elegantly Dressed Student. Principal’s Commendation Award was given to Arshita Bassi, Gurleen Kaur and Anna Sharma. Singing performance by the teachers enthralled all. The School Principal, Mr Girish Kumar, inspired the students to strive for a sound and strong character. The party concluded with foot tapping DJ numbers for the students.
Glimpses of 'Carpe Diem', the Winter Carnival 2019
Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, organised 'Carpe Diem', the winter carnival. Mr Jagdish Raja, the Mayor of the city, graced the occasion and inaugurated the carnival by cutting the ribbon. Keeping the interests of the students in mind, right from Pre-Primary Wing to Senior Wing, an array of competitions and activities were organised. Children and people from all age groups enjoyed various rides like Merry go Round, Columbus, etc. Variety of stalls for food and games were there. Commercial stalls including Immigration Consultation and Milestone Education formed an integral part of the event. The most eagerly awaited moment, i.e. Lucky Draw was conducted by Mr Navjot Singh Mahal, SSP, Jalandhar (Rural). The prizes for the draw were LED, Microwave Oven, Exercise Cycle, Kindle E-Book Reader, Amazon Echo Dot, etc. The Mega event concluded with the release of 100 parachutes conveying the message of happiness and togetherness. The Principal congratulated everyone on the success of the carnival.
Annual Day Function 2019
The Chief Guest, Mr Binay Kumar Jha, IRS, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, North-West Region graced the Annual Day function of the School. Mr Dinesh Rai, IAS (Retd.), Special Advisor to Apeejay Education Society, presided over the function on behalf of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education Society, Co-Promoter & President, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and Co-Founder & Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University. The Chief Guest was given the Guard of Honor by the girl guides and NCC students.
The function commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by Hanuman Chalisa, an invocation to seek the Lord’s blessings. The students enthralled the audience with Hindi Group Song, Navras, Eloquent Hands - the black light show and Sufiana Kalam. A short movie – ‘The Journey of a Leader’ based on the life of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia was well appreciated.
School Principal, Mr Girish Kumar, read out the Annual Report highlighting the various achievements of the students. Mr Binay Kumar Jha and Mr Dinesh Rai congratulated the prize winners. The English play ‘The Wind beneath My Wings’ and Hindi play ‘Spandan’ delivered heart touching messages. Mrs Namrata Sharma, Headmistress of Apeejay School, Model Town, gave the Vote of Thanks. The much awaited Fusion Dance made everyone tap their feet. The function concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
