Jalandhar, April 23, 2016: To celebrate the legacy of books on the occasion of Word Book Day, students initiated a special assembly which commenced with a speech highlighting the history and present scenario of books. It was followed by a presentation and a book came to life. It spoke about its plight and sorrow in the 21st Century. Following this was a speech by a student who played the role of JK Rowling and expressed the joy of reading and her connection to it. Thereafter, a quiz session based on literary subjects was held. On the whole, the celebration highlighted the importance of books in our lives and encouraged the students to pick up reading as their hobby.

Jalandhar, April 22, 2016: Earth Day was celebrated by the students of the Columbus Club wherein the programme started with a speech about Earth Day. It was followed by a skit depicting as to how the circumstances changed on Earth from 1970 to 2015. Students also presented a dance performance on the day. The School Principal appreciated the sincere efforts of students.

Jalandhar, April 13, 2016: In a special morning assembly, Baisakhi festival was celebrated in the School wherein the students were enlightened with the importance of the festival and the harvesting season. A cultural programme was presented that began with a ‘shabad’, seeking the blessings of the Almighty. It also included a skit and a Punjabi folk dance ‘bhangra’. The School Principal spoke about the significance of festivals and congratulated the students for putting up a wonderful show.

Jalandhar, Dec. 20, 2015: The Annual Prize Distribution Function of Apeejay School, MahavirMarg was celebrated with gusto and fervour in Dec. 2015. Dr. Daljeet Singh Cheema, Education Minister of Punjab was the Chief Guest along with Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, President, Apeejay Education Society. Sh. Satinder Pal Singh SSP (vigilance), Jalandhar was the Guest of Honour for the occasion.

The guests were welcomed by the school band and NCC cadets. The function started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Dr. Cheema. The cultural programme, ‘Jagriti’, began with an invocation to the three goddesses followed by a colourful medley of Sufi song and dance by the students of Apeejay Rhythms, Model Town;Tanda Road branch and the main branch of the School. The Hindi play titled ‘Jagriti’ depicted the pain and agony of the partition of 1947. An English play titled ‘Masterpiece’ was also staged. Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia highlighted the vision and mission of the School. The School Principal, Ms. Meera Javed read out the annual report describing the laurels won by the students in different fields. Dr. Cheema distributed 85 prizes for 10 CGPA, Human Values, NTSE, ATSE, IIT and Sports, etc. He congratulated the prize winners and encouraged them to attain their aims with zeal and determination. Ms. Meera Javed also gave the vote of thanks. The function concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
