Greater Noida, August 2021: Independence Day has great importance in every citizen’s life. This day reminds us every year that freedom is sacred and citizens must do everything to ensure that it shall not be endangered. The pandemic has confined the students to their homes, but it cannot dampen their patriotic spirit and pride for the nation. In times of virtual learning, challenges of virtual celebrations remain and experimentation has been the ultimate solution for schools & teachers. Combined efforts and support from parents are coming across as crucial for letting the wheel of virtual learning move smoothly.
On 15th August 2021, the celebration of 75th Independence Day was held at the school assembly ground under protocols of Covid-19 guidelines. The senior class students along with few teachers and activity teachers gathered at the school ground at 8.00 am. The Independence Day celebration was started by reciting the patriotic poem by Nandini Kapoor and Rudra Jayant of class XII. Thereafter, the flag hoisting was done by the Principal, Dr. Sarita Pande. This time Independence Day celebration was a mix of virtual and physical celebrations at School ground under the strict Covid-19 protocol. After flag hoisting Dev Goel, a Class VIII student performed ‘Ma Tujhe Salam’ song on guitar, his performance filled everyone with the spirit of nationalism. After that Senior students presented the pre-recorded virtual celebration done in individual classes from Nursery to Class XII, which was held on 13th August in a class assembly. This synchronised display by students despite being in different homes was noteworthy. The teachers guided & motivated the students to perform songs & dances and they performed in the confines of their homes with great enthusiasm. After this, a speech was delivered by the Principal in which she motivated the students to cherish the pride and nationalistic spirit associated with India’s Independence Day. Recording of a poem, written and recited by Nishant, Class XII student, was played, and thereafter, an act on Jhansi ki Rani was performed by Avni Pal, Class VII student, followed by a dance performance on song ‘Zinda’ by Samriddh Srivastava, a Class XII student. Finally, Paridhi Gupta, a student of Class X sung the patriotic song ‘Ae Watan’ and filled the atmosphere with dedication and love for the country. Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Rudra Jayant, a Class XII student.
