Greater Noida, November 22, 2014: The School held its two-day Annual Sports Meet from Nov. 21-Nov. 22, 2014 wherein students, upto Class XII, participated in various events. The programme commenced with the march past and the playground soon echoed with the drum beats and the contingents proudly representing the four houses - Satya, Shakti, Dhairya and Lakshya which marched vigorously around the arena. The assembly was addressed by the School Principal, followed by the school’s song by the choir children.
The head boy, sports captains of all the four houses and the senior teachers then handed over the torch to the Principal to light the ceremonial torch. The School Principal, Mrs. Yashika Bharadwaj, administered the solemn oath to the house captains and participants & declared the sports meet open.
The various events included 50m, 100m, 200m, 4 x 100 m relay and hurdle races for students of Class I to XII. The tracks blazed with the prowess and speed of the athletes. The tiny tots participated in the fun races like ‘Clear the Track’, ‘Match the Shape’, ‘Lemon Race’, ‘Pot the Plant’, etc. and the winners were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
Students of classes II and III tapped their feet to a Ribbon Dance which was followed by a unique and colourful ‘Fan Drill’ wherein performers of Class IV and V put up a scintillating show. The yoga presentation was a grand demonstration of strength, balance and skill.
The eventful day culminated into the most awaited moment, the Prize Distribution Ceremony. Dhairya House was declared as the winner of the 'Best March Past' Trophy and Satya House was the winner for the overall sports activities for the year 2014-15. The vote of thanks marked the end of the event. The Sports Meet finally came to a close with the National Anthem. The programme demonstrated the aim of the school to promote the sporting talent of students from a young and tender age.
