National Science Day Celebration 2019
Faridabad, Feb. 28, 2019: National Science Day was celebrated with full vigour and enthusiasm at Apeejay School, Faridabad, in the honour of Sir C V Raman who discovered the Raman Effect on 28th February 1928. The day began with a Special Assembly in which importance of National Science Day was shared with the audience.
A host of activities like interactive Science Quiz, Model Exhibition, Role Play and Panel Discussions added scientific flavour to the day and kept the students engaged in meaningful learning. School Principal Mr S K Mishra, interacted with students and appreciated the learning experiences gained by them. Motivating the students to participate in such events on a regular basis, he emphasised the need to develop a scientific temperament to lead a systematic & organised lifestyle.
Orientation and Induction Programme
Faridabad, March 2019: Apeejay School, Faridabad, organised a session for the parents of students admitted to the School from classes Nursery to X (session 2019-2020). Dr Jayanti Dutta, eminent Clinical Psychologist (retired from Lady Irwin College, Delhi University), gave her valuable inputs to the parents, as the esteemed Resource Person
School Principal, Mr S.K. Mishra, in his welcome address highlighted the essential facets of curriculum transaction in the School and the various school programmes undertaken to nurture cognitive, affective and psycho motor domains of learning.
Mr S.K. Mishra, in his presentation, shared with the audience the glorious heritage of the Apeejay Education Society, spearheaded by Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, the only child of the Founder Chairman, Dr Stya Paul. Guided by the pioneering vision of Mrs Berlia, Co-Promoter & President, Apeejay Stya Group, Chairman, Apeejay Education Society, Co-Founder & Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University and Chairperson, Apeejay Stya Education Research Foundation, each of the Apeejay institutions assumes its distinct identity.
Mr. S.K. Mishra also highlighted the significance of experiential and participative learning, the need of incorporating global dimensions to our pedagogies, and impact of hands-on learning experiences to empower the children. He reiterated the importance of imparting skills and competencies to prepare children of Apeejay Schools to face challenges of the real world when they leave portals of the school. He shared with the parents the joy of learning & building relationships and emotional bonding with their children. He also mentioned about the three As – Aptitude, Attitude & Altitude – that parents need to inculcate in children to develop fairness and integrity in them.
Dr Jayanti Dutta, in the second session, which was an interactive session, addressed the pertinent concerns – the key psycho-social issues critical to ‘civil society’ that parents face during the challenging early years of their children’s growth. Highlighting the crucial role parents play in a child’s life, she advised them to take parallel onus of the child’s behaviour, along with the School.
Blood Donation Camp
Faridabad, Dec. 29, 2018: Apeejay School, Faridabad, organised a Blood Donation Camp in the School premises of the Senior Wing and the Primary Wing on 29th December 2018 (from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm). The Camp – organised by Apeejay Education Society & Rotary Club Faridabad-East and promoted by Dr Neha Berlia, Chair Rotract /Interact, Rotary Club, Delhi Mid-Town – was a part of the initiative undertaken by the Interact Club of the School to sensitize students towards responsibility and accountability.
School Principal, Mr S.K. Mishra, Vice-Principal, Mrs Kohli and Teacher In-Charge, Interact Club, Mrs Narang, encouraged the students to inspire their friends & relatives to join the Drive. The Interactors put in appreciable efforts to generate awareness in school and the neighbouring areas. Members of the Interact Club with student volunteers built the momentum for active involvement of the community through committed campaigning. The alumni too extended their unstinted cooperation and support to the cause.
Mr Amit Kamat, a member of the Parent Community & Mr Kanwar Singh, a member of the establishment staff, were amongst the first to donate. The alumni, President Rtn. Vinayak Gulati & other dignitaries from the Rotary Faridabad-East, Rtn. Sanjay Wadhavan, President, Rotary Blood Bank, staff from the School, members of the Parent Community, the Market Association of Sector-15 and residents of the neighbourhood participated with enthusiasm to donate for the noble cause. A total of 58 units of blood was collected from the School.
