International Conference on Circular Economy, Management and Industry 4.0

Delhi, Oct 22, 2021: Apeejay School of Management (ASM), New Delhi, in collaboration with Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Management Studies and Research (BVIMSR), Navi organised a two-day International Conference on 21st and 22nd of October 2021, sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The theme of the Conference was 'Circular Economy, Management, and Industry 4.0 leading towards Sustainability'. It was a hybrid conference with attendees present both online and onsite with more than 100+ participants from all over the globe.

Day-one started with the offline inauguration ceremony by lighting the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. In the beginning, Dr. Etinder Pal Singh, Director, ASM, gave the welcome address and shared his exemplary remarks and current trends about the theme of the Conference. He talked about how Indians are practicing sustainable living and what more can be done to address the current challenges that our country is facing as a result of the pandemic in adopting Industry 4.0. Prof Kamal Kishore, Dean, ASM, shared the theme of the conference wherein he talked about the financial implications of the circular economy and the benefits that Industry 4.0 can bring to various industries. Prof. Anuj Kumar, Convener of the Conference, spoke about the deliberations of the two days and highlighted the overwhelming response received by the Conference from all parts of the country and across the globe making it truly a global conference. This was followed by paper presentations by researchers in the offline mode.

The online inaugural was conducted on Zoom for all participants presenting papers in the online mode. Parallel paper presentation tracks were run on multiple online platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet where over 40 papers were presented.

Day-one was concluded by a riveting panel discussion on the topic 'Reflection on Circular Economy and Industry 4.0 leading towards Sustainability' which lasted for about an hour. Panelists were Mr. Joe Houghton, Assistant Professor, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Dublin, Ireland, Dr. Ishita Adhikari, Apeejay School of Management, Dwarka, Delhi, Dr. Anviti Gupta Professor (Psychology), School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sharda University, U.P. and Dr. Mona Sinha, Program Director, Emirates College for Management and Information Technology, Dubai.

Day-two was entirely dedicated to online paper presentations by participants all over the globe where they presented their point of view and themes related to the conference title. This was followed by the much-awaited Guest of Honour speech by Dr. Esther Tippman, Professor, Strategy, Leadership and Change, National University of Ireland, Galway. The day was concluded by the valedictory ceremony where all the participants were thanked for being a part of this international conference and making it a huge success. Five best papers were also declared during the Conference that was closed with wonderful feedback from the panelists, track session judges, and researchers.
