New Delhi, Dec 6, 2019: The Operations Department of ASM organised a Seminar on Industrial Revolution 4.0, on 6th December 2019. The guests of honour were Prof. M.M. Pant and Mr Kapil Sharma. IR 4.0 gives an alternative perspective on how technology provides solutions with data exponentially and the innovation of technology to monitor us. The session highlighted the fact that Management is not only about managing people's skills. In true sense, it is about the interaction of people with new innovation and the effect it will create by merging physical, digital and biological worlds.
New Delhi, Sep 8, 2019: ASM, in association with KPMG, conducted a Professional Certificate Course on ‘Six Sigma Green Belt’ for the students. The four-day training program (32 hours) was held on August 31 and September 1, 7 & 8, 2019 at ASM, Dwarka campus. The certificate course was conducted for the students by a professional trainer from KPMG. The course covered the working of business using Six Sigma. The details were well illustrated by using case studies, activities, games and practical exposure to Minitab for data analysis.
New Delhi, Sep 6, 2019: A seminar on ‘Intellectual Property Laws – Why it Matters to Business’ was conducted for the students by Col. Balraj Anand, a senior legal practitioner with the Hon’ble High Court. He shared that IPL are laws governing use of creation of the human mind and Patents, Designs & Trademarks are considered as individual property. He further elaborated on the significance of laws on copyright, trademark and patent in context of few Indian Business case laws. The sessions were interactive in nature and towards the conclusion a brief quiz session was also organised to check retention quotient of the students.
New Delhi, Aug 30, 2019: ASM organised a Youth Summit on ‘Sustainable Development’ on 30th August 2019 at its campus. The Summit was organised to create awareness about environmental sustainability and how the young brigades can help in sustainable development. Around two hundred students from twenty-five different colleges, affiliated to Delhi University and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, participated in the Summit. Three competitions viz., presentation on environment sustainability, collage making, and poster making were organised during the Summit. The Youth Summit was inaugurated by Mr O.P. Khanduja, Executive Director, ASM. Dr Amit Sareen, Director, ASM, gave away the prizes.
New Delhi, August 1, 2019: Apeejay School of Management (ASM) organised an International Seminar on European Union and Brexit on 1st August 2019. Dr D.K. Malhotra, Professor, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, USA, addressed the faculty and students on various facets of the possible outcomes of Brexit. He provided insights on how the European Union (EU) was formed to keep a check on Germany and ensure peace in Europe, how Germany became a dominant player in the EU, how EU became one of the most successful trading blocs with significant customer centricity, level playing field for all the member countries, intense competition augmenting choices for the customers and common rules across Europe based on liberal and democratic values.
Dr Malhotra mentioned that Britain's exit from EU might be devastating for the country with limited impact on the latter. However, a section of British citizens feel that EU has created restrictive trade practices and that Britain can rebuild itself in the event of formal exit from the EU. He observed that Brexit would affect Britain in the most adverse manner which the people might not realize at the moment. Dr Malhotra said that the British currency, Pound, would crash in the wake of Brexit and the country would have severe unemployment crisis as most of the non-British entrepreneurs would leave the country to set up their manufacturing and other facilities in other parts of Europe.
Gurugram, July 13, 2019: ASM organised an Industrial Visit to Hero MotoCorp, Gurugram, on 13th July 2019. Students of PGDM program (2018-20) visited the plant and got first hand exposure of manufacturing processes and assembly lines at the plant. The students appreciated how several hazardous processes are now handled by robots at the shop floor. The visit was facilitated by Dr Srirang Jha and Dr Sudhi Sharma.
New Delhi, March 15, 2019: In its FAB – Friday Action Button series, ASM organised a session on the ‘Future of Finance and Business in India’, on 15th March 2019. The session was delivered by Mr Binoy Prarbhakar, Editor, CNBC TV18. He talked about the changing dynamics in the economy and business and emphasised the skills and competencies required by the contemporary generation to skillfully navigate it.
