International Conference on Circular Economy, Management and Industry 4.0

Delhi, Oct 22, 2021: Apeejay School of Management (ASM), New Delhi, in collaboration with Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Management Studies and Research (BVIMSR), Navi organised a two-day International Conference on 21st and 22nd of October 2021, sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The theme of the Conference was 'Circular Economy, Management, and Industry 4.0 leading towards Sustainability'. It was a hybrid conference with attendees present both online and onsite with more than 100+ participants from all over the globe.

Day-one started with the offline inauguration ceremony by lighting the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. In the beginning, Dr. Etinder Pal Singh, Director, ASM, gave the welcome address and shared his exemplary remarks and current trends about the theme of the Conference. He talked about how Indians are practicing sustainable living and what more can be done to address the current challenges that our country is facing as a result of the pandemic in adopting Industry 4.0. Prof Kamal Kishore, Dean, ASM, shared the theme of the conference wherein he talked about the financial implications of the circular economy and the benefits that Industry 4.0 can bring to various industries. Prof. Anuj Kumar, Convener of the Conference, spoke about the deliberations of the two days and highlighted the overwhelming response received by the Conference from all parts of the country and across the globe making it truly a global conference. This was followed by paper presentations by researchers in the offline mode.

The online inaugural was conducted on Zoom for all participants presenting papers in the online mode. Parallel paper presentation tracks were run on multiple online platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet where over 40 papers were presented.

Day-one was concluded by a riveting panel discussion on the topic 'Reflection on Circular Economy and Industry 4.0 leading towards Sustainability' which lasted for about an hour. Panelists were Mr. Joe Houghton, Assistant Professor, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Dublin, Ireland, Dr. Ishita Adhikari, Apeejay School of Management, Dwarka, Delhi, Dr. Anviti Gupta Professor (Psychology), School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sharda University, U.P. and Dr. Mona Sinha, Program Director, Emirates College for Management and Information Technology, Dubai.

Day-two was entirely dedicated to online paper presentations by participants all over the globe where they presented their point of view and themes related to the conference title. This was followed by the much-awaited Guest of Honour speech by Dr. Esther Tippman, Professor, Strategy, Leadership and Change, National University of Ireland, Galway. The day was concluded by the valedictory ceremony where all the participants were thanked for being a part of this international conference and making it a huge success. Five best papers were also declared during the Conference that was closed with wonderful feedback from the panelists, track session judges, and researchers.

Dr. Shweta Jha, Associate Professor Apeejay School of Management conducted a session on Writing Literature Review at the National Workshop on Research Methodology organized by Central University of Jammu, on 16 June 2021. More than 120 delegates, from all over the country, participated in the event. The delegates were provided hands-on training on writing literature review.

Webinar on Career Path in Analytics

ASM organised an online Webinar for the Undergraduate students on "Career Path in Analytics" on 11 June 2021.The session covered the basics of understanding data, data analysis, data analytics, types of analytics, skills required for analytics and career path of Analytics. This also included the career opportunity provided by ASM to help them as a whole.

Session on Building Career in Sales by Ms. Geetika Batra

Ms. Geetika Batra, Director Account Planning at Car Dekho and an alumnus (2000-2002) of Apeejay School of Management took an insightful session on how to build a career in sales, via the zoom platform on 5th June 2021. She with her rich experience of 19 years in B2BSales and Sales Strategy gave practical examples from her own journey to explain the sales process, challenges and career progression in sales career. She also guided on do’s and don’ts during their PGDM journey. Ms. Geetika recollected the lessons at ASM and her interactions with her faculty and how it helped her get her campus placement from ASM at Naukri.com where she served for 13 years. The session was well received by the students and they asked a number of questions. Session on “Blockchain and Cryptocurrency” by Mr. Munish Batra

Mr. Munish Batra, Freelancer- Fintech Consultant and an alumnus (1994-1996) of Apeejay School of Management took an insightful session on blockchain and crytocurrency. He has 20 Plus years of experience in sales planning, international business development and team management in multiple environments. He has worked with various companies such as Vardhman Group, Earth Infrastructure Limited, Aegon Limited, Max Bupa Health Insurance and Birla Sunlife Insurance.

Mr Batra started the session with a basic understanding of cryptocurrency and block chain, its types and its value. He also deliberated the use of cryptocurrency industries/companies like travel, medical, pharma, ecommerce etc. The session was well received by the students and they asked a number of questions. The panellists for the session were Dr. Etinder Pal Singh, Dr. Monika Arora, Dr. Preeti Suryawanshi and Dr. Anchal Gupta.

Session on Psychometric Testing

Dr Shweta Jha conducted a session on Psychometric Testing for the students of Banarasidas Chandiwala Institute of Professional Studies on 3 June 2021. With the help of different worksheets, Dr. Jha explained to the students the concept of psychometric tests. She also gave students a hands-on on attempting psychometric tests administered during various selection processes.

Online Symposium on Public Health System in India

ASM organized an online symposium on ‘Public Health System in India’ on 31 May 2021. Students from Kalindi College (Delhi University) were invited as panelists comprising` Ms. Purvi Gupta Ms. Hina Chahar & Ms. Tannu.

The panelists spoke on the current state of health care system in India and how this can be improved so that it reaches even to the marginalized section of the society. It was also discussed that although the three-tier health care system of India is a robust one, it requires to be properly managed and supervised so that it does not crack under the pandemics like Covid-19. They also mentioned that even the community should come forward to reinforce the existing healthcare system under state control so that benefit goes even to the most vulnerable sections. Further the speakers observed that optimism of the people will enable them to survive this pandemic.

In his closing remarks Mr. O.P. Khanduja, Executive Director, ASM, emphasized the role of community in ensuring healthcare to all. He mentioned that healthcare should be a collective responsibility of people, community, private sector and the state. The discussion was jointly moderated by Dr. Shweta Jha, Apeejay School of Management and Dr. Monika Kulshreshtha, IINTM.

Seminar on Environmental Ethics and Sustainability

New Delhi, Nov 2020: The Eco Club of Apeejay School of Management organised a Seminar on Environmental Ethics and Sustainability today. Mr O P Khanduja inaugurated the seminar and encouraged the students to actively contribute their mite towards conserving nature and protecting the environment by way of making mindful choices in their daily life.

Mr V. Selvarajan, Founder, Green Circle, shared his incisive views on environmental ethics and sustainability. He stressed the need for reviewing personal choices, moral values, conventions, and norms concerning changing times, given the increased human population and depleting natural resources during the session.

Seminar on Industrial Revolution 4.0

New Delhi, Dec 6, 2019: The Operations Department of ASM organised a Seminar on Industrial Revolution 4.0, on 6th December 2019. The guests of honour were Prof. M.M. Pant and Mr Kapil Sharma. IR 4.0 gives an alternative perspective on how technology provides solutions with data exponentially and the innovation of technology to monitor us. The session highlighted the fact that Management is not only about managing people's skills. In true sense, it is about the interaction of people with new innovation and the effect it will create by merging physical, digital and biological worlds.

Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate Course for PGDM Students at ASM

New Delhi, Sep 8, 2019: ASM, in association with KPMG, conducted a Professional Certificate Course on ‘Six Sigma Green Belt’ for the students. The four-day training program (32 hours) was held on August 31 and September 1, 7 & 8, 2019 at ASM, Dwarka campus. The certificate course was conducted for the students by a professional trainer from KPMG. The course covered the working of business using Six Sigma. The details were well illustrated by using case studies, activities, games and practical exposure to Minitab for data analysis.
