New Delhi, January 25, 2019: Apeejay School of Management organised an HR Summit on Disruptive HR Practices and Future of Work wherein the panel of speakers comprised Ms Simin Askari, Vice-President, Corporate HR, Dharampal Satyapal Ltd., Ms Debjani Roy, Chief People Officer-India, SRL Diagnostics Ltd., Mr Arun Verma, Chief Human Resources Officer, Brightstar Telecommunications India Ltd., Ms Renu Bora, CHRO, Schenker India Pvt. Ltd. and Ms Runa Maitra, Director, People Talent International.

Prof. O.P. Khanduja, Executive Director, Apeejay School of Management, welcomed the guests and set the tone of the panel discussion by emphasising how the HR function has transitioned from back-end personnel role to strategic position in the recent times – a major paradigm shift in the 20th Century. Ms Simin Askari observed that artificial intelligence has brought in elements of objectivity, efficiency and speed. Ms Debjani Roy talked about HR challenges of managing employee experiences in order to keep them motivated in the wake of rising work pressures and customer expectations. Ms Renu Bora said that HR functions have drastically changed in the last thirty years. The first major disruption in India was referred to be ‘Naukri’ when the entire recruitment process shifted from print to digital. Mr Arun Verma said that negative connotation has been assigned to disruption which is not a good way of looking at emerging scenarios. Ms Runa Maitra moderated the panel discussion.
