Seminar on Cyber Security & Self Defense for Women

New Delhi, August 30, 2019: Apeejay School of Management, Dwarka campus, in collaboration with the Delhi Police organised a seminar on ‘Cyber Security and Self Defense for Women’. Mr O.P. Khanduja, Executive Director of the Apeejay Dwarka campus, welcomed the Chief Guest, Dy. Commissioner of Police, Dwarka District Delhi, Shri Anto Alphonse, IPS, along with the Delhi Police team including ACP, Mr Rajinder Singh, SHO, Mr Ramniwas and SI, Mr Arvind. The seminar was attended by more than 500 students from over 27 colleges of Delhi NCR who had come to participate in the Youth Summit which was also organised at Apeejay Dwarka.

Mr O.P. Khanduja, Executive Director, in his welcome address emphasised that we are living in the digital age of social media and in this era of internet and computers, there exists an aspect of cyber crime whether it is cyber cheating or fraud, women harassment or terror recruitment which needs to be strongly addressed.


Delhi Police personnel created awareness about online threats in the cyber space and informed & educated the students about the various ways in they can safeguard themselves and make cyber security an integral part of their lifestyle. They also demonstrated the use of Himmat Plus App which is an initiative by the Delhi Police to help the citizens in case of emergency and the students installed it in their mobiles. The Delhi Police women officers gave a demo on the self defense training to the female students and taught them defense techniques & steps to use in case of emergency.

The Chief Guest, Mr Anto Alphonse, DCP Dwarka, interacted with the students and shared various initiatives that the Government is taking for the safety & security of the citizens and also offered to conduct free self defense training workshops for the female students. The program concluded with a vote of thanks.
