New Delhi, Aug. 17, 2016: The Marketing Club of ASM organised a Poster-Making Competition on the theme '70 years of Independence'. The Competition, held in the amphitheater, saw participation by more than 10 teams. Four best posters were shortlisted and the winning teams were given certificates. The event was a grand success. Students from ASM as well as Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication actively took part in the event.
New Delhi, June 21, 2016: ASM celebrated the International Yoga Day at its Dwarka campus. Students, faculty and staff members enthusiastically participated in this special event. Aacharya Anil Mudgal from the Yoga Federation of India and a well-known expert in Yoga addressed the gathering on the importance of Yoga. He demonstrated various Yoga exercises and the participants also practiced various Yoga exercises with him.
New Delhi, June 9, 2016: ASM started its Orientation Program for its 24th Batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Management (2016-18). At the inaugural function, Dr. Alok Saklani, Director, ASM welcomed the new batch of students. In his address, he stressed on the role of learning and offering alternative decisions. Prof. Ashok Ogra, Director, Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication shared his thoughts and perspectives with the new batch. He emphasised that the students need to be curious and while achieving greater heights, managers should never forget about their responsibility towards the under privileged and society at large.
Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Mittal, Dean, USMS, GGSIPU, speaking as the Chief Guest on that day, highlighted about the criticality of the 4Es which stands for energy, energizer, edge and execution. Mr. Vivek Kumar, Chief Human Resource Officer, Indus Tower, shared his views on how to become professionally competent in the corporate world. He also emphasized on developing the ethical conduct, curiosity, thinking, application skills, observation skills, team work, time management and leadership skills.
The Orientation Program of the new students continued for three weeks and concluded on 30th June 2016. During this period, the students went through a number of bridge courses on subjects like Economics, Quantitative Technique, Principles of Management and Financial Accounting, besides, number of sessions were conducted by corporate experts. The students were also apprised of different rules, procedures and systems of the Institute related to attendance, discipline, communication, pedagogy, assessment systems, etc. The students were also exposed to Yoga and meditation sessions. On the final day, the students also presented a talent show.
New Delhi, March 2016: An Investor Awareness Workshop was conducted under the aegis of SEBI by the Voice Society for the Finance Club. The resource persons for the Workshop included Mr. H.K. Awasthi, Legal Advisor, Voice Society; Mr. V.P. Khanduja, Insurance Trainer, ICICI Prudential Ltd.; CA Sanjeev Sharma, and CA Amit Gupta, Director, Triumph Financial Services. Mr. Khanduja discussed the different insurance policies and the tax advantages of taking these policies. Mr. Awasthi explained the importance of investing and keeping oneself updated in this sphere. CA Amit Gupta emphasised the need to analyse investment alternatives and the inherent risk before making investment decisions. He emphasised the need for evaluating the fundamentals of different companies and holding securities for an appropriate period of time. The various technical stock market concepts were also elaborated upon by him. Mr. Sanjeev Sharma focused on the investment avenues which provide tax benefits under Section 80C.
New Delhi, Feb. 6, 2016: Mr. Partha Bagchi, Commercial Planning and Supply Chain Head, Shriram Rings and Pistons Ltd. conducted an interactive workshop for the PGDM students, through management games based on the Toyota Production System.
