20th Convocation Ceremony

Delhi, February 28, 2020: Apeejay School of Management, New Delhi, organised its 20th Convocation Ceremony on 28th February 2020 at its Dwarka campus. On this occasion, 315 graduating students received Post Graduate Diploma in Management. Besides, 11 students received medals for their outstanding academic performance.

Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Union Minister, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India, delivered the convocation address as the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Naqvi encouraged the graduating students to join the bandwagon of new India as co-travellers in re-establishing the pristine glory of the country by revitalizing the heritage and leveraging contemporary technologies for prosperity of all.

Mr Aditya Berlia, Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, and Member of the Board of Governors, Apeejay School of Management, presided over the function and conferred the diplomas. Mr Berlia advised the graduating students to seek help both in their personal and professional lives, form their own opinions, develop capability of looking at original sources of information, work on strengths rather than covering weaknesses, and take responsibility of life-long learning in order to accomplish lasting success, prosperity and happiness. He also administered oath of ethical conduct to the graduating students.

Shri O.P. Khanduja, Executive Director, Apeejay School of Management, observed that success is the sum of small efforts. He shared the forward looking and progressive vision of the Institute and talked about the initiatives to make the students industry ready.

Earlier, Dr Amit Sareen, Director, Apeejay School of Management, welcomed the guests and presented a report on the Institute. The Convocation Ceremony concluded with the rendition of the national anthem.

Orientation Program 2019

New Delhi, June 11, 2019: ASM welcomed its 27th Batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Management (2019-21), on 11th June 2019 and conducted a three-week orientation program for them. At the inaugural function, Mr O.P. Khanduja, Executive Director, ASM, welcomed the new batch of students. In his address, he stressed on the value of skills, trust, hard work and initiative. The Chief Guest of the program - Padma Bhushan Mahashay Dharampal Gulati ji, Chairman, MDH Pvt. Ltd., gave his blessings to the students, faculty and staff and interacted with students with full of zeal & enthusiasm and also shared valuable lessons from his life journey. Another guest, Shri Anurag Sharma, Hon'ble Member of Parliament Govt. of India & Executive Director, Baidyanath, shared his insights of the Ayurvedic industry and also shared with the students, many inspiring anecdotes from his personal and professional life. Many more dignitaries from corporate world like Mr Amit Pandey, COO, Exicom Tell Systems Ltd., Mr Raghav Khosla, Group Editor, Exhibition Showcase and Mr Atanu Gangoly, Business Head, Eveready Industries etc., spoke on various upcoming challenges in the dynamics of the rapidly changing business world. Shri Deepak Chaurasia, veteran journalist & prime time anchor, Co-Founder, Aaj Tak, also addressed students, and shared his experiences and challenges faced in the media industry. Apart from the corporate interactions, students got safety instructions from ACP, Dwarka Mr Rajender Singh and also received a lot of encouragement from ASM's alumni.

During this period, the students went through bridge courses on various subjects like Economics, Quantitative Techniques, Principles of Management and Financial Accounting, etc. The objective of the bridge course is to bring students from different disciplines at the same level and make them acquainted with basic concepts of Management. Students were also apprised of different rules, procedures and systems of the Institute relating to program structure, attendance, discipline, communication, pedagogy, assessment systems, etc. The Business Plan Competition was organised for the students during the Orientation Program. The students also took a keen interest in preparing and presenting their business plans. Around 10 teams presented their business plans and the best two teams were selected after rigorous judgment by external jury members. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the students also attended yoga and meditation sessions. On the final day, the students participated in a talent show.
