Grandparents Day was celebrated in the School by the students of Kindergarten wherein grandparents were invited to attend the programme prepared exclusively for them by the little ones. The programme began with an invocation of Goddess Saraswati, followed by a welcome-speech and welcome-song. The sequence consisted of Western and Indian dances, and two plays based on values of respect, sharing, caring and helpfulness. Indian folk dances were showcased and stalls of games and decorative materials were put up for the grandparents to try their hands. The lawns were decorated according to the theme for the day, 'Our Indian Heritage'.
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, a leading paediatrician in Faridabad, spoke on the occasion about giving respect and help to the elders. He also gave tips about how to maintain stamina and good health. He stressed upon how grandparents can play a major role in instilling values in the younger generation.
The programme concluded with refreshments and group games for the grandparents. The prizes were handed over by the School Principal, Mrs. Purnima Vohra. They were also gifted the Bhagwat Gita and a copy of Reflections in Time written by the Founder Chairman of Apeejay Education Society, Dr. Stya Paul.
