Greater Noida, April 2020: Apeejay School of Architecture and Planning, Greater Noida, is a premier institution in Architecture and thus, has been entrusted by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) to share the e-classroom information with all other institutes of Architecture in UP. During the COVID-19 shutdown, all students had been intimated that the studies will continue in virtual classrooms. With the cooperation of the teachers, students, and parents and with safe practices and innovative techniques in distant communication, sessions are being successfully conducted.
In the virtual classroom, students have been regular with assignments and studies. On a general day, the students mark their attendance in the Google classroom and then study the course matter uploaded by the teachers. This is followed by a Zoom class or phone calls by the teachers in case the students find it difficult to connect with the students. The difficulties are thus sorted out.
The ethics of making e-learning lectures, training on the making of videos and regular contact with faculty over the phone, logins, emails, Zoom sessions and WhatsApp groups have been used to keep a constant vigil on the progress of the situation. The classroom teachers have been taking updates from all Subject teachers. Under the able leadership and vision of the Chairperson of the Apeejay Education Society, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia and other senior members, many state-of-the-art workshops are organised to build a strong e-learning foundation.
Over 60 video lectures have been shared already on the e-Learning channel in a short span of time and are being referred to by the students of various colleges of Architecture in UP.
A special team under the Director, Prof. Vivek Sabherwal's vigil has been established and a senior professor made responsible for establishing a huge database that the teachers provide as lectures on the YouTube. Data to be uploaded is checked for syllabus content and overall quality. Teachers of School of Architecture and Planning, in recognition of their noble efforts in Covid times, have also been issued certificates of appreciation by AKTU.
