The School of Architecture & Planning, at the Apeejay Institute of Technology (AIT), Greater Noida, set up in 1999, has always been focused on the dynamism of creative ideas, path-breaking innovation and immaculate implementation in the realm of Architecture. It is one of the higher education institutions, under the aegis of the Apeejay Education Society (AES) – which in its journey of more than five decades has always stood for human values, inclusive education and social commitment extending beyond its 24 educational institutions in various parts of the country.

AES is led by Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education Society. Mrs Berlia has made outstanding contribution in ensuring that the Apeejay Stya vision of quality education leading to man-making and nation-building is manifested in all the constituent educational institutions.

At present, our B.Arch. courses are affiliated to the Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. The alumni of the Institution have carved numerous success stories as architects in various organisations and also as consultants & entrepreneurs.

The mission of the School of Architecture & Planning is ‘Promoting systemic academic development and emphasis on qualitative aspects in the profession of Architecture’. The vision of the Institution is ‘to provide a comprehensive education in Architecture that prepares students to contribute purposefully to the profession & society and to conduct research, integrated with education in a selected area of excellence within traditional discipline and relevant to the society & nation’.

We seek to define what Architecture education should be like, today and in the future, to train and produce this new generation of architects who are able to assimilate the wisdom of the tried & tested, and merge it with the best of technology, new knowledge and best practices. Sustainability is another crucial dynamic which is integral to our approach towards education related to Architecture and Planning.

Today, India needs architects who are not only visionaries but are also practical and grounded creative thinkers, team-workers, reflective practitioners and life-long learners. In our institution, this is what we seek to achieve through all our endeavours.

Over the years, we have conducted national level seminars/conferences and workshops to bring greater awareness among our students and faculty. In the recent times, we have ushered in online teaching and have trained our faculty extensively in digital education, and have conducted online classes successfully. It is our privilege that AKTU (our affiliating university) selected us as a premier Institute to provide quality online lectures for Architecture students of all colleges under its own flagship, and awarded our teachers certificates of appreciation.

Not complacent to rest on its laurels, the School of Architecture & Planning is future focused. The Institute aims to offer more professional courses such as Interior Design, Masters in Planning, etc. as well as more value added programmes. Further, we aspire to set up a Centre of Design Innovation wherein students, alumni and faculty would focus on experimentation, advance design knowledge, and work closely with the construction industry partners and allied professionals.

We all know that Architecture is both an Art & Science and we expect our students & faculty to do research and form an alliance with the industry. Our approach is to interact with the profession to a greater degree than in the past, and the School has already put emphasis on communicating with the profession & industry.

With the guidance and support of the Apeejay Education Society, under the leadership of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, our Institute is all set to scale to new heights of excellence.

Looking forward to welcoming our new students for a fascinating and enriching learning experience.
