A "Apeejay" has today evolved as a symbol of excellence for bright young generations—right from pre-school to Doctoral level. The Apeejay Institute of Design, New Delhi was established in 1991 under the aegis of the Apeejay Education Society to provide professional education of global standards in various design disciplines at the Under-graduate and Postgraduate levels.

It gives me immense pleasure to note that the Institute has incorporated the latest trends in course design, pedagogical practices and learning methodologies that are being continuously updated in sync with the changing needs of industry and emerging developments in Design. The strengths of the Institute are intellectual capital, industry interface, consultancy, training & placement, and student empowerment. There is a strong emphasis on developing soft-skills such as communication, independent thinking, and sharpening entrepreneurship skills in our students.

I must congratulate the Institute for putting into place multiple global collaborations, facilitating Cultural & Student Exchange, Joint Projects, Research and International Internships. Of significant importance was a tie-up with Georgia State University, Atlanta USA for conducting a Fashion Show on theme-"Indian Fashion through the Ages", designed and implemented in its entirety by our students.The students of the Institute have been absorbed by leading brands all over the world.

The efforts of the Director & the faculty and students are commendable. These have enabled the Institute to become one of the leading Design Institutions of the country, synonymous for its quality standards and innovative curriculum, not only in India but also abroad. The Institute endeavours to continue its quest for excellence with all-round improvements in all facets of quality Design education.
