Colgate ‘Spread A Smile’ contest:
Atreyi Haldar, Class V C was one of the 36 finalists of the Colgate
‘Spread A Smile’ contest. Her poem along with those
of the other 35 winners was composed into songs by the renowned
lyricist Sh. Javed Akhtar and music directors Shankar, Ehsaan and
Loy. These were released at a concert in Mumbai on 7th October,
2004, which was anchored by Atreyi along with Mr. Roshan Abbas a
renowned TV/Radio anchor.
Piano Competition: Abir Sinha, Class III A topped
in the Initial Grade Trinity College of London Examination held
for playing the Piano. He secured 95% marks.

Vidhi Gupta of Interact Club was selected as Zonal Interact Representative
(ZIR) for the Rotary Year 2006-07. She was formally installed
at District Interact Leadership Assembly (DILA) held at Apeejay
School, Sheikh Sarai on September 6, 2006.
Navya Anand of class IX A was felicitated with the Student
of the year Award by NIE, The Times of India. She was awarded a
cheque of Rs. 1500/-
Atima Nayyar a student of class IX -C sung a song as a guest in
one of the episodes of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 'Little Champs' which was
shown on ZEE TV.
National Standard Examination in Physics -2006': Indian
Association of Physics Teachers held 'National Standard Examination
in Physics -2006'. Aditya Gupta was awarded certificate of Merit
for being placed State wise top 1% of the Candidates registered
in State Territory.
Painting Competition: The Society for Upliftment of Masses
held an on the spot painting competition on 'One contribution that
I can make to save children from water borne diseases. The competition
was organised by Human Rights Group. Priyanka Gupta of class IV
was awarded Gold Medal for her painting on 'Water is life'.
Victoria Junior College Scholarship: Four students Sayantan
Maji, Ambalica Angra, Pooja Lalwani and Sanchit Grover (IX) have
been awarded an all- expense paid scholarship for a four- year Integrated
programme by Victoria Junior College, Singapore. Apeejay School,
Sheikh Sarai is the only school from Delhi to be short-listed for
this prestigious project.
Inter-School Mathematics Competition: 23rd Aryabhatta Inter-School
Mathematics Competition was held at Summer Fields School. Nishant
Pai secured X position. Over 80 distinguished schools of N.C.R.
participated in the competition.
National Council of Educational Research and Training: conducted
NTSE (National Talent Search Examination 2006), Sahoo Tammna of
class XI A was awarded Merit Scholarship of Rs. 6000/-.
Dharam Hinduja Merit Scholarship: Akshay S. Rao is one
of the three Delhi students selected for the prestigious Dharam
Hinduja Merit Scholarship by Hinduja Foundation to pursue graduation
studies. This scholarship is given on the basis of top merit of
CBSE Secondary School Examination.
Prateek Suri: Class XI D participated in a WCG
(World Cyber Games) gaming competition in June 2004 and qualified
for the India Semi-finals in Pune where he surged ahead to the finals
in August 2004. He has been
ranked no. 2 all over India.
He has earned the title of ‘Professional Gamer of 'Need For
Speed’
besides earning a prize of
Rs.
2 lacs and graphics card worth Rs. 10,000.
Dreams of Dreams Skulls: The school boasts of young entrepreneurs
all 15 years old, a group of 6 young boys of standard X. They have
launched Dreamskulls Web Designing Company which is object specific
and aims at developing high quality websites ranging from basic
HTML to complex flash websites. This enthusiastic team has not only
designed a website (Dreamskulls.com) for itself but also has a few
clients under its belt. No wonder, we see them as future Sabeer
Bhatias.
D.P.S. Model United Nations Conference:
The students from Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai attended the prestigious
Delhi Public School Model United Nations Conference, held at the
India Habitat Centre from Dec. 03 to Dec. 05, 2004 and represented
the country IRELAND in various UN Committees like Economic and Social
Council, General Assembly and WHO. Issues of world concern such
as AIDS, Human Cloning and Child Labour were discussed. Over 50
schools from India and neighbouring countries sent in 60 delegations.
Our delegation of three students won four coveted individual prizes.

Best Teacher Award: The Hindi faculty at the school
livened up as two of its members Dr. (Mrs.) S. Tripathi and Mrs.
Vijayshree were honoured by the Best Teacher Award and Dr. S. Radhakrishnan
Memorial National Award this year.
Associate NCC Officers Award: Ruchi Sharma, PRT
of Maths faculty has become a role model for many of the youngsters
at Apeejay by receiving the Associate NCC Officers Award from the
Delhi Directorate at OTA Gwalior. She successfully completed the
course and stood first in the order of merit among the 85 trainees
from all over India.
