Creative Writing: We deem it privilege that Mr. Aditya Berlia decided to conduct classes on creative writing fro an exclusive group of student from classes IX - XII. The selection of 11 students from 25 was done on the basis of an original composition and a note on what inspires them to write. He engages them on Saturday morning s from 8:00 am to 9:30 am. The discussion and guidance given by Aditya are of one top order. He takes care of minute details regarding how to go about producing on original writing. The fortunate writers are: Aditi Gupta - XII D, Akhil Aggarwal - XI A, Ananya Bhatnagar- XII B, Arnav Verma - X C, Pooja Sriram- XI C, Ravish Kalra - XI B, Saagar Bedi - X C, Shreya Rawlley - IX A, Sonal Batra - XII C, Sushmita Kamroop- IX D and Vijeta Pai- XI A.

Teachers Workshop: Continuous Professional Development of teachers is the core of Apeejay Education Society and a number of programmes are being organized by all of us to keep our teachers updated with the latest trends in teaching of various subjects. In order To keep pace with the changing scenario of English teaching, Apeejay school, Sheikh Sarai organized an Orientation Session for Apeejay English Teacher of NCR on September 19th, 2006, on Lesson Planning For an English Class. Mrs. Alison Barett, ELT Support Manager, British High Commission, New Delhi (India) conducted the session. This session was attended by 65 English Teachers from all the Apeejay Schools and was useful to all the English teachers of the school, from pre-primary to senior secondary classes. They learnt the nuances of effective lesson planning.

PROBE NCR Programme:
IIT Delhi's Technical Resource Centre in coordination with Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai launched the Probe - NCR Programme (Meteorological and Environment Education for schools) supported by Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India on 26th July, 2006 in the school auditorium. The inaugural programme was conducted through a lecture cum audiovisual presentation. Prof. B.L. Deeskhatula, Chairman Expert Committee NCR-PROBE & ISRO visiting professor, University of Hyderabad delivered the inaugural lecture wherein students and teachers were apprised of meteorological observations, computer use, data utilization and impact on society. Dr. Malti Goel, the convener of the programme, addressed the issue of global warming to the students and apprised the audience about the objectives of the programme. Under the project a weather observatory will be set up in the school premises. The purpose is to create awareness about the earth-atmosphere, ocean-system amongst school children. Principal Mrs. Sarita Manuja thanked the PROBE organizers for choosing the school to be part of the project and ensured maximum and effective participation in the whole programme.

E- Learning Experience, Scholar India, an online educational programme for students of classes XI and XII has been introduced in our school. Lady Plaxy Arthur, National Project Director for Scholar Indian Visited our school and briefed and trained teachers about the modules and their implementation. Teachers are of the opinion that this programme would support and enhance the teaching and learning of Maths and Science and impact students positively. It would make the educational experience of students more enjoyable and yield better understanding of concepts.

SEA Enterprises
Ltd. is an enterprise managed by the students of the Humanities and the Commerce Stream of Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai. The project has been designed to inculcate in the students, decision making skills and also develop the spirit of co-operation, co-ordination and team spirit towards problem solving. SEA Ltd. has been formed as a public company with an initial share capital as small as Rs. 1500/- divided into 150 shares of Rs. 10 each. The profits generated are partly disbursed as dividends to the outgoing students of class XII along with their initial capital contribution. The project has been successful in giving students a hands-on experience in the execution of managerial tasks, and has paved a small but a sure path in their evolution as future financial managers.
