THE SCHOOL LIBRARY

Th e School library is a vast reservoir of books which aims at the growth of the students and develops self esteem. To imbibe reading habits in students and staff members, the school library offers the following:
  • A wide range of latest fiction, poetry, prose, philosophical books, magazines, comics , newspapers, text books, audio and video cassettes and other visual aids await avid learners and readers
  • The School is a member of the British Council Library, New Delhi.
  • There are approximately 21,000 books in the library.
  • Separate seating arrangement for primary and Senior students
  • Computerized issue and return of books to students and staff members.
  • Regular book reviews presented by students and staff members.
  • Book Week is organized every year in which Inter School and In House competitions are held.
 
To keep the students abreast with the development in the field of science and technology we facilitate our students with the well ­equipped laboratories for the following:

General Science Lab:
General Science laboratory caters to the primary and middle section of the school.
  • Students have an easy access to the different instruments and model under the supervision and expert guidance of teachers
  • There are mobile laboratories on trolleys for Primary section. These labs are carried to the class rooms and children watch the experiments as the lesson progresses.
 
MATHEMATICS LABORATORY

Students learn and explore mathematical concepts through a variety of activities using, different materials. These activities help the students to explore, to learn and to develop interest in mathematics. It also enables the teacher to demonstrate, explain and reinforce mathematical ideas by using objects, models, charts, graphs etc. Our Mathematics Laboratory is equipped with

There are many models made by the students which include:

Mathematics Laboratory can be used as an effective tool to create fascination and love for Mathematics among the students.
 
Home Science Lab :
  • Home Science lab in Apeejay School is well equipped, well Lighted and well ventilated.
  • The lab. has all necessary kitchen commodities such as Refrigerator, Microwave, OTG and Juicer mixer grinder.
  • A well equipped lab has been set up so that the students can have a practical experience of meal planning and home management under the supervision of teachers.
  • The lab. has sufficient amount of Crockery and Cutlery items to meet the requirements of the school.
  • The lab. has ample amount of workspace to accommodate large number of students at a time.
 
Physics Lab
  • Physics lab is equipped with all the instruments and gadgets which help the students learn the concepts of Physics in a simplified manner and thus making the subject more interesting to learn.
  • The laboratory is spacious and well ventilated.
  • The lab is well stocked with sufficient apparatus for 40 students to work together at a time.
  • It is well equipped with sophisticated instruments like reflecting type telescope, spectrometer, sextant, bar pendulum etc.
  • Sufficient material to be used as teaching aids like charts, models etc.
  • Specially designed Dark Room which is equipped with apparatus like Spectrometer, Mercury and Sodium vapor lamp etc. for performing experiments / projects on Optics
 
Chemistry Lab
  • The lab is equipped with all the instruments and chemicals which enable the concept building of the students in the field of Chemistry.
  • The Lab is very spacious and well ventilated.
  • Well stocked with sufficient quantity of chemicals and glass apparatus
  • Well equipped with distillation plant, gas plant and latest instruments like Electrical Balance, Centrifuge, Electrical water bath, Magnetic stirrer
  • Teaching aids like Charts and Atomic model sets are available to meet teaching requirements.
  • The lab is fully equipped in order to meet any untoward incident.
 
Biology Lab
  • The lab is well equipped with different models of the various systems of the body.
  • Projection microscope is available which is used extensively by the school teachers to show historical features of plants and animal tissues along with the whole mount of various microscopic plant and animals to a group of 10-12 students at given point of time thereby saving a lot of time.
  • There are 115 charts on Rexine which is very valuable and effective teaching aid.
  • The school has 20-25 micro models and 10 dissectible micro models which gives hand on experience to students in knowing each and every organ / part of an organism.
  • Apart from this there is a wide collection of specimens of different species of animals and plants.
 
Biotechnology Lab:
  • Biotech lab emphasizes on skill, which is the key to success for the budding scientists of tomorrow.
  • The lab is equipped with all facilities and the main purpose of the Biotechnology lab is to integrate the practical work with the curriculum.
  • It aims at familiarizing the learner with various basic techniques to identify, isolate, purify and characterize microorganisms, proteins, DNA enzymes etc.
  • The lab is equipped with a computer with Internet connection to make the students practice various exercises on Bioinformatics. The students study theory lessons in the form of “Click & Do” exercises on computers using various Internet sites.
 
Computer Lab
  • Five computer labs have the latest Pentium ­based multimedia machines for providing hand on experience to students from Nursery to XII.
  • There are over 150 computers to help students to learn computers.
  • Computer Aided Learning (CAL) packages are specially designed to make learning more interesting and this leaves an indelible impression on the students mind
  • Two LCD projectors to make teaching and learning an interesting enjoyable and effective process.
  • Color Televisions installed in each class from V- X which emphasizes digital learning.
  • Advanced CAL packages are loaded in all machines from classes V-X to facilitate computer aided learning.
  • The Internet facility enables the students to draw the latest information from Computer networks all over the world.
  • Training programmes are organized for teachers to make them computer friendly.
 
ROBOTICS LAB
  • Robotics Lab is well equipped with Lego Mindstorms Robotics Kit and IBM Pentium IV computers with Robotics Invention System 2.0 software loaded on it.
  • Lego Mindstorms Robotics Kit consists of:
    • RCX : Robotics Command System, has microprocessor to process programs, internal memory to store firmware and programs, and built-in speaker to produce beeps and tones.
    • InfraredTower : It establishes a wireless link between our computer and the RCX. With the IR Tower, programs can be loaded from your computer to the RCX. Once programs are loaded into RCX then robot can work independently.
    • Components : Various parts are available which can be easily assembled in order to make the robot.
    • Robotics Invention System 2.0 CD, which helps to create programs in order to make robots functional.
    • Constructopedia, which gives the details about the robotics kit.
  • The configuration of the computers placed in the Lab are as follows:

    • Keyboard
    • 15”color monitor
    • 52x CD-ROM
    • A pair of Creative Speaker
  • The laboratory is spacious and well ventilated.
 
SCIENCE PARK
  • The school has a well equipped Science Park. There are around 20 different apparatuses based on different phenomenon of Science.
  • The apparatus like Archimede’s Screw, Echo tube, DNA model, Sun Dial, Musical Tubes etc are present in the Science Park. Various concepts of science are taught to the students in a play way method using these swings or apparatuses.
  • The main attraction for the students in the Science Park is the Echo tube and Parabolic Reflector.
  • Students enjoy conceptualizing the difficult concepts in a simple way.
 
GAMES AND SPORTS

Table Tennis : Table Tennis is Played at the Basement Floor where many Table Tennis Tables are kept

Badminton Court: Badminton Court is also present where students are given training before school starts.
  • The school aims at all – round development of the students.
  • Proportionate emphasis is laid on the physical growth along with academic progress, emotional maturity and social well being.
  • The school has stupendous facilities for several indoor and outdoor games like Basket ball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Cricket, Football, Throw ball, Chess etc.
  • Special coaching in various Martial Arts i.e. Tae-Kwon-Do, karate and Judo is provided under the expert guidance of experienced coach.
  • Regular meets are organized to display the excellence in different sporting events.
  • TRANSPORT
  • The school provides 24 buses for covering nearly all places from where the children come to school.
