On 16th April 2010 , the students of Astronomy Club had a night observation in LD CONVENT SCHOOL, Jevar, UP accompanied with 6 teachers. Mr.Tanmay and Mrs.Gurmit Kaur were the resource persons who provided the students with various facts. Students saw many celestial bodies including Jupiter and Mars. They observed constellations including elliptic and a patch of MILKY WAY GALAXY. Students were taught how to handle plansphere and latitude finder. It was an enriching experience for all the participants of the program including the teachers.
ROAD SAFETY CLUB - AWARENESS RALLY

Our students organized an awareness rally on Road Safety at Pragati Maidan, on 8th January 2010, to sensitize the public about the safety measures to be taken care of while on the road and also act as a responsible citizen.
JAPANESE CLUB - JAPANESE DAY CELEBRATIONS
The Japanese Club students went to attend the Japanese Day at D.P.S School,Mathura road on 21st November, 2009. The day was replete with competitions and events like origamy, calligraphy, group sounds, on-the-spot painting competition and poem recitation. The exhibition on Japan as a nation was also held at the venue. Children got an insight into the Japanese language and culture.
JAPANESE CLUB - QUIZ
A quiz on Japan’s cultural, political and historical heritage was held in the Sai International Auditorium. The Japanese Club students of Apeejay School participated in this mega event. They got a first-hand experience of Japanese culture. The qualifier round was interesting and mind-boggling where our students enthusiastically participated.
INTERACT CLUB: COLLECTION OF WOOLEN CLOTHES AND TOYS FOR ‘GOONJ’

Members of Interact Club worked hard to collect woolen clothes and toys for the under-privileged and marginalized children of ‘Goonj’. In a world where issues right from domestic violence to global warming are discussed with unequivocal fervor, there is scant attention to the basic need of clothing. Over the last two years Apeejayites have considered it a mass movement of mobilizing cloth and repositioning it as an important resource for the needy Indians rather than wastage- fit only for charity. The students are working hard to make clothing a matter of concern as a basic need. As a result of their efforts the students could successfully accumulate heaps of woolen good quality clothes to relieve many of the nip and chill of Delhi winters.
Mrs. .Malini Sridhar, Eco Club in-charge Apeejay School ,Pitampura along with Shriya Mehta of class 11th B attended the workshop Ozone Layer depletion and Climate change on 16th sept 2009 on the occasion of World Ozone Day at the Delhi Secretariat. The workshop was organized by the Department of Environment and Delhi Pollution Control Committee. Honorable Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs. Sheila Dixit was the chief guest for the event. The programme also included presentations by various distinguished delegates like –Prof. V. K. Jain on environment and ozone, Dr. K.J. Ramesh on climate change and its impact, Mr. Anil Tyagi on Indian success story on ODS phase out. The programme was very informative and thought-provoking for everyone. The whole event was organized very well and the lectures given by the Prof. enhanced knowledge about environment. This programme provided with a glimpse of the future climate changes and was indeed a fruitful experience.
INTERACT CLUB : INVESTITURE CEREMONY
The Investiture ceremony of Interact Club of Apeejay School, Pitampura was held on August 26, 2009 amidst a dignified and disciplined gathering of various Rotarians and the Principal and Incharges of the school. Mr.G.S.Singhvi, President, Rotary Club Delhi Midtown presided over the function.The function began with ceremonious lighting of the lamp. It was time for the old order to pave way for the new, and the outgoing president Sonam Chauhan of the previous academic year symbolically relinquished her responsibilities by handing over the collar to the incoming president Aarti Kesari along with other office bearers. The school choir presented melodious yet inspiring renditions of two songs titled ‘Chhoona hai Aasmaan’ and ‘Heal the world’. The street play titled ‘Jal Nahi toh Kal Nahi’ touched everyone’s soul. The vibrant and pulsating dance performances by the students stole everyone’s heart away.The Rotarians motivated the students to be true leaders and to perform their duties with diligence and sincerity keeping their important roles and responsibilities towards the school and community in mind. Later the Principal outlined the qualities of a good LEADER and exhorted them to act with courage and conviction. The ceremony came to a close with the rendering of the National Anthem.
ART CLUB : INDIA ART SUMMIT
Student of Art Club along with Art teacher, Mrs. Nidhi went to India Art Summit at Pragati Maidan on Sturday, 22nd August. The Art Summit was a huge collection of the works of various Indian and International Artists. There were sculptures, paintings and various installations by many artists from all over the world. The students saw paintings of some renowned artists like Pablo Piccaso and sculptures of Salvador Da Dali. The students learnt new things and various styles of patinting. Many known artists visited the summit and the students got a chance to interact with Anjoli Ela Menon and also to see her paintings. The paintings were flawless.
They also visited the art bookstore and saw books containing works of different artist. The students enjoyed all in the entire whole summit and they were looking forward to more of it.
ASTRONOMY CLUB (MODULE-I) : SPACE COMPUTER ASTRONOMY AND PLANETARIUM SOFTWARE WORKSHOP
On 22nd August 2009, SCAPS (Space Computer Astronomy And Planetarium Software workshop) was conducted for the students of Astronomy Club Module - I. The resource person was Mrs Gurmeet Kaur & Mr. Rishabh.Children were familiarized with usage of various softwares available on net with special reference to Stellarium. They were taught how to download this software and work on it. Students practised this software and with that they could make conjecture on any past / future celestial event which was a make-believe experience for them.
INTERACT CLUB : ROTARY DENTAL CHECK UP
On August 06, 2009, members of Interact Club along with Ms. Taruna Klara and Ms. Vratika Jain arranged the visit of Rotary Dental Check Up Van in Godhuli School, Meera Bagh. The dental check up was organized in order to ensure the dental hygiene of the marginalized and underprivileged children of Godhuli School. The doctors checked the children for any defect in the dentures and also suggested measures to correct it. The children were also advised to brush their teeth regularly and were advised to maintain the dental hygiene.
ASTRONOMY CLUB (MODULE-I) : A SESSION ON DIRECTIONS
On 4th August 2009, a session on Directions was conducted for the students of Astronomy Club (Module-I). The resource persons were Mrs Gurmeet Kaur & Mr. Rajesh Malik. Understanding the directions with new prospective, realizing the limitation of conventional method of telling directions outside earth by fixing geographical North with the help of Gnomon and learning about the local coordinates was the aim of the session. Students were taught how to find geographical directions using stars and locate them using altitude and azimuth co-ordinate system. The session was full of new facts and knowledge. It was also demonstrated that how the Sun will cast its shadow at different times.
ASTRONOMY CLUB (MODULE-I): INTRODUCTION AND JOURNEY ON THE BEAM OF LIGHT
On 29th July 2009, a session on “Introduction and Journey on the beam of light” was conducted for the students of Astronomy Club (Module-I). The resource persons were Ms. Kanika & Mr. Rajesh Malik.
Students were given introduction to the activities to be undertaken under the Astronomy Club. The students were taken on an imaginary journey in space from the Sun to the end of the known universe. They were explained how long they would take to reach the farthest point in the universe, if they traveled with the speed of light. The purpose was to give the students an idea of the size of the universe, types of celestial objects and our cosmic address so that the students could appreciate the vastness of the universe.
ASTRONOMY CLUB (MODULE-I): A SESSION ON “JOURNEY ON THE BEAM OF LIGHT”
Students of Module-I of Astronomy club by S.P.A.C.E. attended their first and second session on 29th July 2009 . Students were given Introduction regarding the working of the club and details of various sessions to be held throughout the year. Along with that the session on “Journey on the beam of light” was also held. It was a great learning experience for all the students of Astromony Club.
VIVEKANANDA CLUB – A TALK BY SWAMI SHANTATMANANDA
Vivekananda Club of Apeejay School, Pitampura organized a talk by Swami Shantatmananda, the Secretary of the RamaKrishna Mission, New Delhi. Swami ji enlightened the students of class VIII through his talk on life of Vivekananda and character building. He inspired them to live a live of purpose, dedication and service with a rave passion.
