OUR SCHOOL HOSTEL-A HOME AWAY FROM HOME
The school hostel, which was started in April 1986, is a little “home away from home” with a caring and affectionate staff, catering to students from all over the country and abroad.
OUR SCHOOL HOSTEL
Apeejay School NOIDA Hostel provides a dwelling place to 70 boys and 26 girls and aims at providing them a rounded personality from socio-cultural and personal point of view. There is an atmosphere, which inculcates the spirit of tolerance, team spirit and a feeling of respect towards all religions.
Our Hostel Management is represented below diagrammatically :-
Neat, clean and well-equipped dormitories add to the beautiful lay out of the Hostel. Common room is utilized by the boarders to play all types of indoor games. The hostellers apart from recreation, get their knowledge updated with T.V. and other audio-visual aids. There is a reading section which provides them five daily newspapers and eleven periodical magazines along with educational bulletins for respective subjects based on the latest C.B.S.E. syllabus.
They act as a link between the Hostel Superintendent and students and help in designing the daily activity schedule of the hostel functioning.
MESS COMMITTEE consists of six students (both boys and girls) and Hostel Superintendent. Hostel Nurse keeps a strict vigil over the quality and nutritional value of food along with the cleanliness in the kitchen, dining hall and personal hygiene and cleanliness of the mess workers. It is additionally supervised by the visiting medical physician.
SPECIAL AND SALIENT FEATURES
- Students can avail of the Internet and Browsing facilities available in the school campus itself.
- The girls and boys of classes V to VIII are assigned personal assistance for daily homework and lesson completion at a daily basis.
- Compulsory and supervised study hours prevail from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. for all the hostellers.
- Specific subject coaching is arranged from outside the campus for the boarders who require additional help in study especially in Maths, Accountancy etc.
- Lectures as well as visits are arranged from various organizations and NGOs for the orientation forwards value-based education.
- Subject wise CDs as a ready reference are available for the Senior Students .
OUTINGS AND EXCURSIONS
Monthly local outings and educational excursions are regular features in the session. During the last term, hostellers visited were shown educational and cultural films at Max Mullan Bhawan, New Delhi, and visited FUN- FOOD village Gurgaon.
GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING sessions are held for both the students and parents to discuss various academic and personal issues. Personal problems or any other issues related to school or hostel are discussed and sorted out with the Principal, Vice-Principal and the Hostel Superintendent.

INFIRMARY
Apeejay School , Noida takes into account, a holistic development of the child. Apart from studies, on other front physical development and medical emergency of the school student are met in the school.

INFRASTRUCTURE & FACILITIES
- The school has two medical/ retreat rooms with 6 beds in total – one in Primary and other in Pre-Primary and senior sections to cater to the medical needs of the school students.
- The rooms are run by a full time qualified. ‘A’ grade nurse.
- The school also has a qualified insisting Physician for all school days.
- The rooms are equipped with all First Aid facilities & medicines to manage all kinds of health needs arising in school premises.
- For higher medical care the students are transferred to a leading hospital in Noida (i.e. N.M.C.)
- Regular yearly checks up for students of classes IX- X are done.
- Proper information through school’s medical steps/ reports are sent back to the parents, about medical-aid given in the school.
The Apeejay School Library which measures 3000 square feet is airy, well ventilated and well lit. It is a store house of knowledge with over 16,000 books on different subjects. Invaluable Reference books are available and can be made use of in the Library.
The Library receives a vast range of magazines and journals both National and International. We also receive many of the Daily National newspapers.
In our present day world, Computers have assumed a significant role, and have become an integral part of our lives. In keeping with the times the Apeejay School library is now fully computerized.
The senior students utilize the library for study and reference work. They are guided by two experienced and qualified librarians, who help them in selecting the relevant reading material.
With the opening of the new Primary Block – the “Primary School Library” has begun functioning in the new building, for all students of classes I – V.
It is our aim to inculcate the reading habit in the young students and to develop in them an awareness and sensitivity towards their environment and their fellow human beings.
To enable the young minds to develop a scientific temperament, the school has five well equipped functional labs for the middle and the senior school students. For science and technology (6- 8) , biology, chemistry, physics(9-12) and biotechnology(11, 12). The labs are well equipped with charts, models, dissected specimens of various animals and many plants. All the labs are fully furnished with material required as per the syllabus prescribed by CBSE and also to create general interest in a student’s mind towards science. The students of all classes in the middle school are shown a lot of activities utilizing a mobile science lab- a small compact lab on wheels which is present on each floor and is well equipped with chemicals, burners microscope or any other thing of use for classroom demonstration of some simple activities. This year onwards, there will be a separate laboratory for classes 6-8 so that they can also enjoy, learn and develop a scientific temperament and we can nurture their scientific aptitude.
SWIMMING POOL
The school swimming pool provides excellent facilities for the students to learn swimming and excel in this field.
Swimming is compulsory for the students from classes IV to VII and is a part of school time table. A qualified swimming coach and lifeguard is available. The swimming facility is also open to students of other classes on payment of requisite fees after the school hours. This facility is also available to ex-students and parents of wards.
During vacations the pool is open from 6.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. |
