National Conference

A National Conference on ‘Innovations in Management Practices’ was held in the Apeejay School of Management, Dwarka campus, on 12th June 2009. Dr. Y.S. Rajan, Principal Advisor, CII, Dr. K.R. Srivathsan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, IGNOU and Mr. David Wittenber, CEO, The Innovation Workgroup were the chief guests. The conference included sessions by several distinguished speakers like Prof. T.N. Kapoor, Former Vice-Chancellor (Panjab University), Prof. Abad Ahmad, Former Pro-VC (University of Delhi), Prof. Sanjay K Jain, Head, Dept. of Commerce (DSE, University of Delhi), Prof Amit Mookerjee, IIM Lucknow, etc.More than 100 academicians contributed papers.

• Question- Answer session of the seminar in progress

  “Intellectual Property Rights; Infringement and Protection” held on 11th February 2009. Ms. Asha Nayar Basu, Partner, S. Jalan & Co. (Solicitors and Advocates) addressed various ways to protect intellectual property like copyright, trademark, patent etc. at length. In terms of applicability of IPR she covered industries like fashion, advertising, music and academics etc. She elaborated on various cases of Intellectual property infringement such as – Kodak Vs Poloroid, Complan Vs Horlicks and Jeevanprash Vs Chayavanprash.

• Mr Subramanian, MMTC delivering the seminar on EQ

  Emotional Intelligence At Work Place was organized on 12th January 2009. In the seminar Mr J Siva Subramanian, GM (HR), MMTC emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence especially in mergers and acquisitions. He also discussed various models of measuring and managing emotional intelligence for augmenting organizational effectiveness. Dr Alok Saklani, Director, Apeejay School of Management, also discussed at length how emotional intelligence evolved in research and academics.
  
  
  
  
  

• Prof Malhotra, Philadelphia University being welcomed

  International seminar on Role Of Derivatives In Current Financial Crises was organized on 9th January, 2009. Professor D. Malhotra from Philadelphia University was the speaker. He discussed in derivatives and its role in the present financial crisis. • Speakers taking questions from audience at end of Intl Seminar

  Keeping its tradition of putting in perennial efforts in doing quality work, Apeejay School of Management, Dwarka organized an International Seminar on “Customer Relationship Management to Relationship Share” on 7th January 2009. Dr John. H Summey, Professor Marketing & Distinguished Teacher, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale & Prof. Ramendra Thakur, Professor (Marketing) at University of Louisiana at Lafayette were the invited speakers. The seminar was spread over two sessions wherein the speakers shared their knowledge, observations, and research studies in the area of Customer Relationship Management. The sessions were followed by a highly comprehensive Panel discussion on CRM & its implementation across different industries. The panel members included Mr Arun Srievastava from Airtel, Ms Sonu Pant, CRM Consultant, Ranbaxy & Prof. Mukesh Chaturvedi, Dean, BIMTECH.
