Admission open for PGDM session 2010-12:


Eligibility Requirements

  • Graduation in any discipline from UGC recognized University with 50% or above marks.
  • A valid CAT/XAT/MAT/AET-score (Apeejay Entrance Test)
  • Students appearing in the final year examination of graduation may also apply.

Admission Procedure

  • Candidates will be short listed based on merit and will be called for group discussions and interview at Institute campus, Jalandhar.
  • The overall weighted average performance will be worked out by considering in parameters and weights as given below, provided a candidate obtains a minimum of 50% marks in each of these parameters.
  • 20% of academic performance
  • 50% for admission test
  • 15% for group discussion
  • 15% for personal interview

Application
The aspiring candidates should return the application duly filled in, to the Office of the Apeejay Svran Institute of Management by the stipulated date. The applications are carefully screened for superior academic performance and extra curricular accomplishments of the candidate.

Group Discussion and Personal Interview
Group discussion & Personal Interview is an essential element of the admission process, which is used to identify and assess the interpersonal and communicational skills, essential for managerial positions. Short listed candidates will be divided into small groups. A discussion topic will be allotted to each group. Members of the group will debate on the topic assigned by the faculty. Evaluation will be done by a team of expert faculty members. After the group discussion, the candidates have to undergo for a personal interaction with an interview panel of the Institute.

Admission Offer
After careful evaluation of the previous academic record and performance in the admission test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview, the Admission Committee prepares a list of short-listed candidates who will be offered admission on merit in the concerned program.

Fee Structure
The total fee for the session 2010-11  is Rs. 1,75,000/- out of which 50% is payable at the time of admission and balance in the month of December 2010. 

Caution Money
Rs. 10,000/- to be paid at the time of admission and refundable at the time of completion of the course.

Incentive
(i) Laptop and study material to be provided free of charge.
(ii) Scholarship to the students to be provided as under
  • 30% of tuition fee-Entrance test score > 80 percentile or > 70% in graduation
  • 25% of tuition fee-Entrance test score > 70 percentile or > 60% in graduation
  • 15% of tuition fee-Entrance test score > 60 percentile or > 55% in graduation 

Directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court on Ragging:

  1. Ragging is to be treated as a crime.
  2. The strictest measures are to be taken to curb it.
  3. Any physical or material harassment to fresher is to be considered as crime and the offender is to be booked by the police.
  4. FIRs will be registered against the offenders.
  5. The punishment to such students should be exemplary and justifiably harsh to stop recurrence of the ugly incidents.
  6. Anti-ragging squads would be set up and failure of delay in reporting ragging incidents would amount to culpable negligence.
  7. Institution Leaving Certificate should mention if the student showed any aggressive behaviour or desire to harm others.
  8. Events like “Frehshers’ Day Celebrations” should be concluded within the first two weeks of the beginning of the session.
  9. Students indulging in a ragging may be expelled from the institution they would not be eligible for admission is any college in future.
