Founder's Day:
The birthday of our Chairman, Dr.Stya Paul, was celebrated
as the Founder's Day on 4th October, 2007 at AIT-Campus. A function
was jointly organized by the students and faculty of AIT - Schools
of Management, Computer Science and Architecture & Planning to
commemorate the occasion. A Special Assembly was conducted on the
life and achievements of Dr. Stya Paul while urging every one to imbibe
the qualities of humility, dedication to hard work, sense of human
values, and determination to succeed, which are personified by Dr.Stya
Paul. The message of Vice-President Mrs.Sushma Berlia was read out.
It was followed by a series of cultural events presented by the students.
The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of Best Student Award for Human
Values to the students from each of the Schools.
National Seminar On “Unleashing Human Energy – Human Capital Management For Global Competitiveness” On April 10th & 11th, 2007:
A National Seminar on “Unleashing Human Energy – Human Capital Management for Global Competitiveness” was organized by
AIT-School of Management on 10th & 11th April, 2007 at IIC, New Delhi. The seminar was cosponsored by AICTE and Power
Finance Corporation Limited. The seminar was attended by the faculty members of AIT and students of MBA besides faculty
from other institutes. Distinguished academicians and professionals from industry participated as principal speakers in
different sessions on the theme of the seminar. Three technical sessions were conducted besides the inaugural session.
The participants and speakers deliberated on the emerging issues facing human resource management both at the macro and
micro levels with a view to make organizations globally competitive.
The seminar was inaugurated by Mrs. Sushma Berlia, Vice President, AES and President, Stya Group of Companies. In her inaugural speech Mrs. Berlia emphasized that Human Resource is the most important factor for development of a country and for the competitiveness of organizations. She highlighted the need for human resource development at the macro level in the areas of training, education and development. At the micro level she emphasized the need for involvement in research and development so that innovative and creative approaches to human capital management are found in organizations.
Convocation:
The Apeejay Institute of Technology (AIT) held its first
convocation for conferment of MBA, MCA and B. Arch Degrees (under
the U.P. Technical University, Lucknow) on April 23, 2006 at the AIT
Campus, Greater Noida. Prof. D.S. Chauhan, Vice Chancellor, U.P. Technical
University, Lucknow awarded the degrees to 112 meritorious students.
Mrs. Sushma Berlia, President, Apeejay Stya Group & President,
PHDCCI presided over the ceremony. Amongst the other dignitaries present
on the occasion were Prof. Lallan Prasad, Director- AIT, School of
Management; Prof. D.N. Bajpai, Director- AIT, School of Computer Sciences,
Prof. A.K. Maitra, Director- AIT, School of Planning & Architecture
and Dr. M.K. Tyagi, Director- Apeejay Institute of Education.
Hon'ble Chairman's visit to AIT campus:
Our Hon'ble Chairman, Dr.Stya Paul visited AIT-Campus on
29th March, 2006. On the occassion, a cultural function was organized jointly by all the schools of the AIT. The function was attended by the students and faculty
of the different schools. Prof.P.V.Gupta,the then Educational Advisor also
accompanied our Chairman during the visit. Dr.Stya Paul took a round
of the Campus and showed keen interest in the various activities of
the institute. During the annual day function that followed, Director
- School of Management Dr.Lallan Prasad welcomed our Chairman and
highlighted the inspiring leadership provided by Dr.Stya Paul in the
management of institutions of Apeejay Education Society. Cultural
items were presented by the students of Schools of Management, Computer
Science, Architecture & Planning, Apeejay Institute of Education
and the Apeejay International School. He awarded prizes and trophies
to the students who have achieved excellence in academics, sports
and other extra curricular activities like debates, quizzes and cultural
events. Our Hon'ble Chairman also released the latest edition of AIT-Review,
the newsletter of Apeejay Institute of Technology. While addressing
the students and faculty, Dr.Stya Paul said that in order to succeed
in life one has to dream and convert that dream in reality through
dedication and hard work. He added that like a falcon which soars
high, sky is the limit for persons who want to achieve something in
life. He also emphasized on the need of developing ethical behavior
and values in one's life. Our beloved chairman also encouraged the
students participating in cultural items by giving them cash awards.
Prof. D.N. Bajpai, Director-School of Computer Science proposed the
vote of thanks.
Alumni Meet: The second Alumni Meet was organized by the MBA students
of AIT-School of Management on 27th November, 2005 at AIT-Campus.
Mr. Mahendra Pratap Singh, SP, Greater Noida was the Chief Guest during
the function which was attended by Dr.Lallan Prasad, Director, other
faculty members and a good number of Alumni of the School of Management.
There was close interaction and sharing of experiences between the
alumni and current students. Mr. Amej Sharma, working with Tally Sol's,
Mr. Shelly from Birla Sun Life and Mr. Tarun, Entrepreneur, students
of MBA - 2002 batch brought out the challenges, pressures and harsh
realities of the cooperate world and asked their juniors to develop
their knowledge and soft skills while studying at Apeejay, which would
enable them to be successful in the competitive business environment.
The alumni of MBA-2005 batch also spoke about their experiences in
the organizations where they are working. Colourful cultural items
were presented by the students, followed by dinner. Dr. Lallan Prasad,
Director - School of Management emphasized the importance of networking
between the alumni which helps in the exchange of ideas and placement

Intra College sports event : An intra college sports meet was organized at AIT campus on 17th and 18th February, 2007. All the three schools of the AIT campus participated in different sports namely cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, chess, badminton and athletics.
Inter- Collegiate Sports
Meet : The inter
collegiate sports meet was held in the institute campus from 9 to
13th February, 2005, in which students from seven institutes in and
around Greater Noida participated including Apeejay, IEC, Priyadarshani,
IMI, Janhit, Mangalmayee and C-MAT. There was a keen competition amongst
participants to vie with each other for trophies in various sports
events like Cricket, Football, Volleyball Basketball, Table tennis
and athletics.
