Apeejay Art Fest - 2009 An eventful Art week, unleashing a torrent of tumultuous passion and feeling of artistic expressions,  was organized jointly by Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jallandhar and Apeejay Institute of Design from 2nd – 8th March, 2009.  The main components of the Festival were an Exhibition of Paintings, Sculptures, Art work, Print-Making, Installations and Photographs, at Lalit Kala Akademi, Cultural Fusion, Fashion Show, Design Fiesta and the Grand Finale. Smt. Sheila Dixit, Chief Minister of Delhi, also visited the Exhibition and complemented the students for their quality of work.

Guest lectures, field visits and workshops are regular features in every semester, as also are the Fresher's party, Farewell Party and Orientation Programmes which happen every year. Events which mark the session 2007-2008 at the Apeejay Institute of Design were exciting study tours, Design Festival- IRIS, Design Showcase, 5th Dimension Show amongst many inter- college events.

6th Design Festival- IRIS 2008 and Design Showcase

(19 - 22 November 2008)
The Institute's 6th Design Festival- IRIS 2008 was inaugurated by Mr. Ashok Bajpai, Chairman, Central Lalit Kala Academy, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. He also threw open the Design Showcase, the graduating show of the students of the 4(four) departments of the B. Design program. Campus recruitment also took place with the companies like Proform, Melange Design Pvt. Ltd., Q2A, etc. to name a few, picking up students.

As a part of the 6th Design Festival - IRIS 2008 Inter College Students Competitions were held on the 20th & 21st November. The events included Talent search - Dance, Music, Street Play, Best out of Waste, Flower decoration etc. and Fun games. This 2 days created lots of excitement among the students.

A Cultural Evening, full of colour and vigour, dances, songs and a skit kept the students enthralled on the evening of 22nd November.
The "Fifth Dimension Show", is a show by the Graduating students of the B.M.M. and B.F.A. Department. The students display their final year projects on animation/film and print media in the exhibition hall of the institute. Mr. Arul Haris, owner of the Multimedia Company called “Media Workshop” inaugurated the show. Campus recruitment also took place with the companies like Greenleaf Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., Q2A, Lintas, Encompass, Thompson Press (India) Ltd., Gati, DISH TV, ESYS Information Technology Limited etc.

Study Tour

A study tour for 2 night – 3 day trip to “Corbett National Park”, was organized by the institute for the B. Design Fashion & Textile and B.M.M. students. Students got the opportunity of going on an animal safari, watching wild animals & birds in their natural habitat and connecting with all that is naturally beautiful. They also visited the Garijia temple, did photography and brought back exciting memories.

A second study tour for 2 night – 3 day trip to “Rajaji National Park”, was organized by the institute for the B. Design Interior & Graphic and B.F.A. students. Students experienced the adventure & of a jungle safari, watched the wild life, the migratory birds. They also visited the Hrishikesh - Lakshman jhoola.
