A student can start their career as an Assistant Designer, Project Assistant which can provide them numerous outlets for creative expression, they can benefit immensely by interacting with wide variety of Professionals they deal with on various projects and later can specialize in a specific area and develop their own style.

FASHION DESIGN
Apparel Designing is not merely creating beautiful clothes for beautiful people but it is about providing a meaningful  and viable solution to an existing problem specific  to a customer group.  A well designed piece of clothing besides covering the body also creates a look that reflects the customer’s aspirations and life style.

The contemporary fashion industry is changing at an accelerated pace, keeping the designer fraternity under constant pressure to innovate and create something new every hour.  To add to this phenomenon, newer developments in production and information technology has markedly shortened the journey of a design from sketch to finished garment in a retail outlet.  Moreover, Fashion brands are diversifying into newer product areas increasing the demand for well-trained and versatile Design professionals.  A Fashion Design graduate to-day can take on a variety of fashion related careers such as Fashion Buyers, Stylists, Photographers, Visual Merchandisers and so on.

Even more so since there are many more Designers, more Brands, more Markets and much more International competition entering Indian Market today than there ever was.  Hence, the curriculum of the programme is structured with a global Fashion Industry centric approach, covering not only the creative but also the technical, managerial and administrative facets of Apparel business.

At Apeejay Institute of Design we attempt to cater to the ever growing demand for young designers and other personnel, equipped with all the basic skills required for innovation, experimentation and adaptation that the Industry requires.

The achievements of our students so far are evidence of our Programme’s success in inculcating a sense of curiosity and infinite possibilities for creation as a designer
