Industry Institution Interaction
Professional and Technical Education has to be always kept abreast
with the latest developments and demands of the Industry which can
only be done by keeping a close liaison with the Industry. Thus the
Institute, thoroughout every Session, is constantly organising Visits
to various Industries, Inviting Professionals from the Industry as
Guest Speakers and Workshops conducted by Experts from reputed Organisations
in the Field. In this Session (2004-2005) the Institute has organised
32 such Activities, Brief details given below.
13 Industry Visits were organised to gain a first hand knowledge and
hands on Experience. Some of the Industries visited were Media-Expo
- a Digital Centric Exhibition, M/s. Glorious Styling, M/s. Shivalik
Printing Mill, M/s. Amco Exports, M/s. Rajkamal Industries, Digital
Art Studio of Mr. Hardesh Dhingra, Film City, M/s. Glow Plast (India),
PRINTZ ARTZ-Printing House .
Design is an area which is directly related with the Industry and
to have the latest information, the Institute invites Experts as Speakers
to have interaction with the students. In this Session, the Institute
invited 12 Guest Speakers who gave talks on "Home Furnishing
Export being a promising sector", "Creativity and its relation
to Advertising", "Decorative Laminates and its uses",
"Nature as a source of inspiration", "Vaastu Science
and its relation to Interiors", "Importance of Storyboard
making & Script Writing in the Advertising field", "Creative
Exploration with Fibres and Fabrics", "Portfolio and Presentation
Techniques"
Similarly in the area of latest technical know how it is a known fact
that master Craftsmen, Technicians of a specific field or even Creative
people are known for a particular skill. The Institute is constantly
trying to identify such people for conducting Workshops for the students
at different levels. This year we conducted 7 such Workshops on "Illustration
and Narration", "Fabric Collage", "Stain Glass",
"Sculpture from Junk", "Mock-up models of Interiors
in Plastic".
