| Industrial Visits & Educational Tours Educational trips and tours are arranged from time to time in the college. Frequent Industrial visits are organized to provide the students an insight into the working of various industries as per the demands of their curriculum. Counseling The institution has a separate counseling cell, which provides personal and professional counseling to the students. A student has to bear a number of uncertainties and psychological chaos; therefore this cell works exactly to provide valuable guidance to the students. Recent Events  Annual Convocation Ceremony: The 29th Annual Convocation ceremony was held on February 17, 2006 to felicitate the graduates and post- graduates of the institution. The students were conferred degrees and diplomas by Prof. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice Chairman- University Grants Commission. Visit of Lord Swraj Paul: Lord Swraj Paul, Chairman, Caparo Group, U.K. & Chancellor, Wolverhampton University visited the institution on February 24, 2006. Impressed by the talent of our budding artists, Lord Paul has extended an invitation for a cultural performance at Wolverhampton University, UK.  Annual Prize Distribution Function: The 31st Annual Prize Distribution Function was held on March 5, 2006 to honour the students excelling in curricular and co- curricular activities. Mr. Surinder Singla, Cabinet Minister for Finance, Planning and Institutional Finance & Banking, Punjab was the honourable guest for the day.  Lavanya- 2006: A pageant of Design, Textile and Interiors was organised on March 11, 2006 to promote and chisel the creative potential and artistic acumen of our aspiring designers and also to provide a platform to them to launch their careers in the glitz and glamour by a fruitful interaction with Textile Industry and Architectural houses. Hon'ble Mr. Pratap Singh Bajwa, Minister PWD (B & R), Cultural afafirs, Archives & Museum, Punjab was the Chief Guest for the day. International Conference on Manual Therapy: The students of Bachelor of Physiotherapy won the Over- all Best Performance Trophy at the International Conference on Manual Therapy organised by Sardar Bhagwan Singh Institute of Paramedical Science and Research, Balawala, Dehradun in November 2005. National Youth Festival: The college has stolen a march over all the institutions of the country by emerging as the National Youth Festival Champion for six times in a row- the only institution in India to have achieved such spectacular success. |
